Historia
As the dominant species on Earth, humans have made astonishing progress since our ancestors came down from the trees. But how did the descendants of small primates manage to walk upright, become top predators, and populate the world? How were humans able to develop civilizations and produce a globalized economy? Now, in The Age of Wood, Roland Ennos shows for the first time that the key to our success has been our relationship with wood.

Magnificent Wood
Revisado: 04-21-21
Oh what a great book! It was slow going only because there is so much fabulous information packed into just one or two sentences. The author is a walking dictionary of terms that I had long forgotten. The background startled me and I hung on every word. This story of wood is actually a page turner, similar to a great mystery. You judst cannot put it down. What are the next series of secrets he will reveal? A surprise war preceded the Boston Tea Party.?...never heard of it before. I learned so much in this book that sometimes my head hurt. Yes, a scientific background helps but none the less, it is a book that has to be readm all, it is that kind of good.

A Short But Powerful Book
Revisado: 04-21-21
I am new to the spiritual world so I had to look up a few words but the best part of this book is that it is concise, to the point and well organized. This is the sort of book you will keep by your side and use as a constant reference. You can quickly find what you want to read once again. The outline format for many of the chapter headings is extremely helpful. I have found this book to be indispensable. I am particularly fond of books that are read by the author. The readings seems to always be smoother and real to me. ( Hear the two Obama books for another example of author read books) Clearly, the author's heart is in this book and the words are very powerful. She obviously cares that we understand and can follow her directions. Grab it. Read it. You will love it. It might become your favorite little book.

From the award-winning, New York Times best-selling author of The Monsters of Templeton, Arcadia, Florida and Matrix, an exhilarating novel about marriage, creativity, art, and perception. Fates and Furies is a literary masterpiece that defies expectation. A dazzling examination of a marriage, it is also a portrait of creative partnership written by one of the best writers of her generation. Every story has two sides. Best Book Read in Years!
Revisado: 06-21-16
Would you listen to Fates and Furies again? Why?
Absolutely and probably several times. I noticed already that with each listening I hear and learn something new. Our book club went wild discussing this book. Most said it was their best read in years. The constant surprises take your breath away
What other book might you compare Fates and Furies to and why?
Reminds me just a tad of Virginia Wolfe's book "To the Light House" written back in 1928.
Which character – as performed by Will Damron and Julia Whelan – was your favorite?
The sweetest was Rachel. The most powerful was Matilde. The most interesting back character was Sallie. The biggest surprise character was Land. The biggest scum bag was Ariel.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Are you kidding? There were many moments, too many to mention here.
Any additional comments?
Brilliant writing, equally beautiful style.
