I really miss the original characters and especially the Mog, Adam. I miss the original chemistry between the original characters. Though, I don't miss the old narrator, Neil Kapplin's voice. This new narrator is something to be desired, too....He bores me to sleep. These books are good though. Too bad Netflix or another streaming service can't pick up the original series, or even anime, I would love to see the original series come to life.....even though the Movie sucked....I totally didn't picture John, the way they portrayed him in the movie....that actor just didn't fit the John, I had pictured in my head. The Mogs in the movie too, the true born are to look more human to fit in, the vat born....the movie interpretation was fine enough.
I wonder when the next book is going to come out? I'm happy that the teen romance was at a minimum in this book....love the syfi...hate the emo teen romance drama. My favorite character is Ran, the Japanese girl. I really hate Taylor, as much as I hated Sarah...or maybe I hated those characters because of how the narrators had made them sound...I dunno? I really miss John, Sam, Six, Adam, Marina and Ella...wish they'd pop up more in this series, though.... I was really hoping that Marina would've been able to rehabilitate Five though....I thought that maybe with him being one of the few Loric left, that they'd pair up somehow and make baby Loric on Earth.

Constantly repetitive
Revisado: 09-24-18
Every single chapter repeats itself. I don't know how this author made 29 chapters out of this book?! I've quit smoking for several years and always went back to it. Some people also have a lot more chaos, challenges, and trauma than others, so it's actually hard for most Americans to take the British approach of, "suck it up old man and take a positive attitude." Some of us have extreme circumstances, that we have no way out of, and no choice to drudge on with our extreme circumstances. I'm one out of six children. My mother is extremely codependent. The woman drives me insane and we constantly fight and argue. She's a very difficult and needy woman. Absolutely none of my siblings help me out with her. So my stress is enormous. It's easy to say, enjoy and celebrate that you're a nonsmoker, when you never been through the living hell I've suffered from birth. I was really hoping this book would help me quit smoking....but like I said, this book is constantly repetitive. He doesn't really explain his tips. He just keeps saying, "just keep a positive approach and you'll kill the little monster." It also doesn't help, when he keeps referring to people as pathetic....that may have a non offensive outcome in Great Britain, but to an American, that is extremely offensive. It also might help it the narration wasn't done with such a posh, uppercrusty, and condescending accent. Made me feel the narrator is a Lord Darnley, from Downton Abbey, that in turn, made me feel like a low life commoner. Might have been better for the American issue, to have been an American narrator, minus some pompous British vocabulary. Hell, I might have enjoyed it more if someone with a East end or Cockney accent narrated it. And what's wrong with going cold turkey? The way this book is written, there are claims one cannot successfully quit smoking for life, just by going cold turkey. It's entirely possible, I've witnessed my own mother achieve just that. Perhaps, I should've bought the paperback edition? Though, I still would've been offended at the word so often used in this book, pathetic....and sometimes the word, stupid. Do I get my money back for a book that is constantly repetitive, never any explanations of his supposed easy way to quit smoking, an author that's clearly narcissistic, and a waste of my money, time and effort, put into this awful book? The author should have used a non gender word, when referring to the smoker. Made me feel this book was entirely meant for a sole male audience. Women smoke too. Maybe women aren't as worthy of helping/saving as men are, when chain smoking obviously causes health risks to both sexes? This book, with the authors constantly referencing he/him, made me as a she/her, very insignificant.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Roy Dotrice is and acquired taste.....
Revisado: 07-25-17
I loved this book, when I read it the first time myself. Least I know I didn't name butcha the characters names in my own head.
Roy is an acquired taste, that's too foul to even attempt to taste.
I'm praying that by the time "The Winds of Winter" comes out, that George picks a different narrater for his masterful works of fictional art.
Perhaps Ian McKellen, Jeremy Irons, Michael Gambon, Benedict Cumberbatch, Patrick Stewart, Anthony Hopkins.... or hell, even Sean Connery, could take up the narration mantle.... least any one of those great British voices would be an immense improvement over Roy's crappy character voices and name butchering.
I am a Game of Thrones mega-fan. I love both the books and the show.
I happen to love Jeremy Irons voice, and Benedict Cumberbatchs' voices best. I'm praying someone comes to their senses and retires Roy Dotrice, so the world can thoroughly enjoy Georges' work of art.

A young, naïve but ultimately courageous hedge knight, Ser Duncan the Tall towers above his rivals—in stature if not experience. Tagging along is his diminutive squire, a boy called Egg—whose true name is hidden from all he and Dunk encounter. Though more improbable heroes may not be found in all of Westeros, great destinies lay ahead for these two . . . as do powerful foes, royal intrigue, and outrageous exploits. Featuring more than 160 all-new illustrations by Gary Gianni, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is a must-have collection that proves chivalry isn’t dead—yet.

Roy Doltrice ruined every narration in all "A Song of Ice and fire" audible books. Hate the way he name butchers Peytar, Brienne and other names. Can't stand his voices either. I'm praying by the time WoW comes out on audible, Roy Doltrice won't have his voice any longer. Plus, Roy often uses a Cockney accent, there's a northern accent and a southern one in the books. A renunced pronunciation accent (northern) and the common tongue ( below the neck and in the south) which would sound a bit more posh. What's far north of England? Scotland. GRRM based his books mostly on British real life history, so it makes sense that the far north would sound Scottish, and below the neck to Kingslanding, they'd have a more refined and elegant accent like the royal family of today. Cockney accent is in the east end of England, so the Lannisters should have cockney accents. I love the way Lloyd, fully understands the subtle differences in Great Britain's speech. I'd also say that a Reach or Dorne accent should sound Irish. The Vale.... Welsh....
