Historia
This book is about pleasure. It’s also about pain. Most important, it’s about how to find the delicate balance between the two, and why now more than ever finding balance is essential. We’re living in a time of unprecedented access to high-reward, high-dopamine stimuli: drugs, food, news, gambling, shopping, gaming, texting, sexting, Facebooking, Instagramming, YouTubing, tweeting....

Very applicable to anyone... We're all addicted...
Revisado: 09-15-21
Not a very long listen, but filled with very valuable real life stories of her patients, as well as well researched scientific proof regarding addiction. It's easy to see how we're all addicted to something, especially in this age where your any drug of choise is so easily attainable.

Historia
Throughout history, there's been one indelible quality that great leaders, makers, artists and fighters have shared. The Zen Buddhists described it as inner peace, the Stoics called it ataraxia and Ryan Holiday calls it stillness: the ability to be steady, focussed and calm in a constantly busy world. This quality, valued by every major school of thought from Buddha to Seneca, John Stuart Mill to Nietzsche, is urgently necessary today. And, Holiday shows, it is entirely attainable.

Really find stillness in all areas of your life...
Revisado: 07-16-20
I've listened to this book at least 5 times, and it has become a kind of "reference book" when I think of how I want to shape and live my life. It covers all the different areas of your life, and can be applied to both your professional life as well as your personal life.
Ryan brings together the thoughts and writings from many different philosophies, mainly focusing on Stoicism, to really challenge you to look at the way you live your life, in order to find true stillness and joy. He discusses many clever examples from famous people in history, highlighting both things you should do and also things you should avoid, in order to live a thoughtful and successful life.
His narration is beautiful, and I found it much more compelling than some of his other titles.

Very funny and inspiring
Revisado: 10-19-19
I loved this book. It was really funny, but also very inspiring. It essentially asks the question, what are we capable of? At the time of writing it is clear they weren't allowed to mention David Goggins as "SEAL", but now it's obvious. I listened to this after the Goggins book, Can't Hurt Me, and I almost feel it should be listened in that order. A really fun read. Jesse is also a really funny guy, and an awesome narrator.

Historia
A revolutionary system to get one per cent better every day. People think when you want to change your life, you need to think big. But world-renowned habits expert James Clear has discovered another way. He knows that real change comes from the compound effect of hundreds of small decisions – doing two push-ups a day, waking up five minutes early, or holding a single short phone call. He calls them atomic habits.

Tiny changes, remarkable results!!
Revisado: 06-02-19
I've always loved James' writing and coaching, and this book is the culmination of years and years of well researched writing.
He is one of the few authors who's methods I find easy to apply, because they focus on small changes, and rather focus on your systems before focusing on goals.
There are many examples in the book, making it easy to relate the methods to almost any area of your life. Whether you are trying to improve in your professional life, or your personal life. I've already made many changes to my own life based on this book.
