Historia
When a small-time criminal named Harold Lee turns up in the Ashokan Reservoir - sans a heartbeat, head, or hands - the local mafia capo hires Isaiah Coleridge to look into the matter. The mob likes crime, but only the crime it controls...and as it turns out, Lee is the second independent contractor to meet a bad end on the business side of a serrated knife. One such death can be overlooked. Two makes a man wonder.

Masterful
Revisado: 05-04-22
William DeMeritt's masterful performance of this wonderfully twisted second installment of Isaiah Coleridge's exploits is not to be missed!! DeMeritt imbues Barron's wonderful characters with such individuality and life that I am able to "see" the novel unfold as I listen. Am eager to move to Book 3!

Historia
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Fascinating and Horrible Story. Expertly Narrated.
Revisado: 03-04-19
This is a fascinating and horrifying story reported by Bryan Burrough. I could truly see the small towns, the grisly scenes. The writing was expertly brought to life by narrator Steve White. His narration drew me in and enegaged me in this story so that I wanted to know more and find out what happened to the victims and this murderer I'd never before heard of. White didnt wallow in the gore, but nor did he shy away from telling the facts of what happened. I felt like he had written the book himself, he so truly captured the author's voice.

A beautiful, heartbreaking story flawlessly told
Revisado: 08-10-18
I was drawn in almost immediately, the characters and their situations had me so engrossed that I didn't want to stop listening. The three actresses beautifully narrated this heart-breaking tale of loss and redemption mixed with pain and the cruelty humans sometimes inflict on others and themselves. Every character was brought to life, but of course Cecilia, Annie and Tobias were so gorgeously given life that it was as though I was there, in the story, with them. I sobbed, I smiled and I loved them all, as flawed and beautiful as they are.

Quirky Story, Expertly Performed
Revisado: 06-14-18
This is an interesting short story with a satisfying twist or two. Without giving anything away, it is definitely worth your time and can be pleasantly listened to in one sitting. Pleasant in no small part due to Steve White's performance of the story. His voice is easy to listen to and he truly embodied the atmosphere of the story, with the pace, colloquialisms and cadences that put the listener squarely in the location of the story as he brought each character to life with an aplomb that says "ACTOR", not just reader. I could clearly envision each person and their own humanity as the story went along. I would absolutely listen to more by this author and narrator!

Loved this. Johnny Heller rules!
Revisado: 11-14-16
The book is great. Super funny, but also quite useful. Johnny Heller's narration really brings out the humor without hitting the listener over the head with the "funny". Loved it!!
