Historia
On a cool June morning, Isa Wilde, a resident of the seemingly idyllic coastal village of Salten, is walking her dog along a tidal estuary. Before she can stop him, Isa's dog charges into the water to retrieve what first appears to be a wayward stick - and to her horror, Isa discovers it's not a stick at all...but a human bone. As her three best friends from childhood converge in Salten to comfort a seriously shaken-up Isa, terrifying discoveries are made, and their collective history slowly unravels.

Overdramatic, long and tedious
Revisado: 09-12-17
What did you like best about The Lying Game? What did you like least?
I found the story to be irritating. The characters were not sympathetic and the telling was so overdramatic that every twist and turn was a let-down.
What did you like best about this story?
Not much.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Imogen Church?
Yes.
Could you see The Lying Game being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No.

Historia
Only 22, Emma learned to bake at the side of a master, Ezra Kuchen, the village baker since before she was born. Apprenticed to Ezra at 13, Emma watched with shame and anger as her kind mentor was forced to wear the six-pointed yellow star on his clothing. She was likewise powerless to help when they pulled Ezra from his shop at gunpoint, the first of many villagers stolen away and never seen again. In the years that her sleepy coastal village has suffered under the enemy, Emma has silently, stealthily fought back.

Interesting story but lacked connection
Revisado: 07-22-17
I felt the book was disjointed and lacked a certain flow. It was difficult to connect to the characters. The story had potential and I kept listening because I was hoping to understand, connect, and change my mind. Unfortunately that never happened for me.

Amazing untold story!
Revisado: 07-22-17
The book is well written and kept me waiting to see what came next. The narrator was a bit too dramatic at certain points but overall was appropriate. Overall, an incredible story based in truth, about an amazing individual.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling author of Me Before You and One Plus One, a surprising and moving romance set in an old-fashioned seaside town on the verge of unwelcome change. Liza McCullen will never fully escape her past. But the unspoiled beaches and tight-knit community of Silver Bay offer the freedom and safety she craves - if not for herself, then for her young daughter, Hannah. That is, until Mike Dormer arrives as a guest in her aunt's hotel.

George Guidall alone made it palatable
Revisado: 07-08-15
I waited and waited to like this book but it never happened for me. I also disliked the Alma character's narrator. George Guidall, on the other hand, is the only reason I kept listening.

Not my favorite Binchy
Revisado: 05-12-15
The stories seems disjointed and some of them, even at the conclusion, still appear to be entirely pointless (and disturbing!). Probably my least fave Binchy of all.

Excellent book, narrator needs some work...
Revisado: 06-06-11
Daniel Silva's books are consistenty excellent and the characters are as real and vivid as ever. My only problem with this audio book was the narrator. Aside from the falsetto used for women's voices which was just irritating, the accents were HORRENDOUS. The Russians sounded like Germans... the Israeli's sounded like quasi-Russians... And the pronunciation was painful for both the russian and the hebrew words. I don't expect it to be perfect, but at least comprehensible. Blue and white in Hebrew is Kachol (Ka-Hol) Ve Lavan - narrator pronounced it Catch-all Velevan. There are many more terrible examples but this one aspect severaly impacted my listening pleasure. Perhaps, being a native speaker of all three languages makes me more sensitive to it but I think purchases should be aware nonetheless.
