Historia
The first invasion of Earth was beaten back by a coalition of corporate and international military forces and the Chinese army. China has been devastated by the Formic's initial efforts to eradicate Earth life forms and prepare the ground for their own settlement. The Scouring of China struck fear into the other nations of the planet; that fear blossomed into drastic action when scientists determined that the single ship that wreaked such damage was merely a scout ship. There is a mothership out beyond the solar system's Kuiper Belt, and it's heading into the system.

A lot of nonsense
Revisado: 01-09-25
I quit listening with 4 hours left. The book is a bunch of nonsense sub-stories. I found myself thinking, "please get on with the story, geez!" It's like the old fashioned soap operas. The author kept belaboring the fact that certain characters were a--holes. OK, got it. Move on.

Too melodramatic
Revisado: 12-27-24
The performance and dialogue was so melodramatic. It was annoying. I'm not familiar with the work of the author or narrator, and this book doesn't make want to be. Definitely will avoid both both in the future.

It came across as a repeat
Revisado: 12-24-24
This one felt like a repeat of bit and pieces of the previous books. The crew seems yo be fighting the same battle against renamed enemies. The banter is getting a bit stale too.

Historia
The day that changed Melody's life was like any other over the previous two years. She'd found she had a gift for writing, and her career as an author had almost healed the pain of losing her job. When the Secret Service rang her bell, everything changed. Something was nearing Saturn…and it was slowing down. Had she been right about the object?

One horrible character ruined it for me
Revisado: 05-28-24
One horrible character ruined it for me, Elon Musk. This man is a horrible person. The author should have used a fictional person instead. I wasted my Audible credit, too late to return it.

Historia
Captain Jacob Brown knew something was up when the United Earth Navy sent two capital warships to their small outpost base. Nobody ever came out to Mosler Station unless they had to. Scout Team Obsidian was scheduled to stand down after two lengthy deployments, letting the team recuperate and rest, but leadership had other ideas. A prototype weapon system has been stolen from Earth, and Obsidian is being called up to track it down.

Entertaining but ...
Revisado: 04-29-24
The dialog was too cliche, like the author cherry picked the most used lines from military fiction. Other than copious eye-rolling at that, I enjoyed it.
The performance was good.
The story was okay.

Historia
The year is 2380. The Intersolar Commonwealth, a sphere of stars some 400 light-years in diameter, contains more than 600 worlds, interconnected by a web of transport "tunnels" known as wormholes. At the farthest edge of the Commonwealth, astronomer Dudley Bose observes the impossible: Over 1,000 light-years away, a star...vanishes. It does not go supernova. It does not collapse into a black hole. It simply disappears.

Difficult to follow
Revisado: 04-09-24
This may be the greatest sci-fi story of all time. Or the worst. What I'm certain of is that it's difficult to follow. The reader sounds bored, uninterested, and uninteresting.

Very good
Revisado: 03-25-24
Excellent performance, story, and without the usual sci-fi filler (fights, chasing, and sex). It makes me interested in what else Andrew J. Robinson has written.

Good story, too long
Revisado: 03-02-24
This book was a good conclusion to the series. The story was good. However, it was very padded. It probably could have been done in one-third the time it took. That is, there was lots of motion, but very slow story progression. A lot of the middle can be skipped without losing anything.

Good, not great
Revisado: 02-29-24
The performance was good, but I would enjoyed it more if they had an actual female to do the female dialog. The reader's rendition of female voices was rather creepy.
The last third of the book seemed to drag a bit.
The "conclusion" was off-putting.

Best in a while
Revisado: 12-10-23
This one is the best since Omega Rising. Every member of the team had his moment to shine. Great story and execution. Great integration of supporting characters as well. I'd give this one 5+ stars if I could.
