Really liked book 1, the author is a really good writer, but I can’t believe she was OK with both the voice and the character of April in book 2. She is so annoying and not like able at all! The fact that Reno was so attracted to her makes no sense . On to book 3

I love everything about her stories. They’re so interesting and always entertain while teaching history. As much as I love her writing I’m not a fan of her narration.

I can not begin to explain how this book moved me, it was one of the most beautifully written books I have ever read. I wish I could make this a mandatory read for every one in the world. With all that’s going on right now this is an invaluable lesson. I’m speechless.

The female voice was good just extremely over dramatic and always seemed angry. There were definitely times it was called for but it was literally how she spoke throughout the entire book so it got very old. The male voice was really good.

Seemed like cliff notes of a book, it jumped around alot and didn’t really make much sense. I stuck it out and was very disappointed in the ending. Surprised this was a Reese Witherspoon recommendation.

Beautiful ,Thoughtful and Heartbreaking

I will never stop being shocked at all that I still don’t know about World War 2 and I’ve read many many books about it throughout my life. This was something I really knew very little about, the Kinder Transport. This author researched this so well, and wrote it so compassionately about how these poor little children must’ve felt and how lost and scared they were. These books were so good, I could barely stop listening and the narration could not have been better.

Interesting but left me really disliking this family

I feel like this author kept trying to excuse so much disturbing behavior of these sisters. Especially the 2 that admired Hitler, simply because they were witty and thick skinned. They were definitely interesting women but were also a perfect example of the rich and privileged in England that looked down there noses at most people.
