Historia
Ever wonder what Will Shakespeares life was like before he was known as the Bard? Before the queen took notice of him? Before the Globe Theatre? Step back in time and into the Arden Woods about Avon. Find out what transformed the life of a petty schoolmaster into a writer of enduring vision.
In an instant this young son of a glover had his life ripped from him by the king of those that live under the hill, the King of Elves.

Wow. A genuinely different take on Shakespeare and his works. I don't want to give away too much so I'll just day this is one of the most enjoyable alternate history stories I've come across. I also enjoyed the detail of giving Shakespeare and his family those Warwickshire northern kind of accents. A lot of attention to detail and now I need to know where the author takes it in the next book.

Historia
Cody Westcott, a young archeologist, returned from a dig at Apachetarimac with more than he bargained for. Seems the Chachapoyans that he had been studying had a lot to teach us all. Soon he steps through the looking glass but unlike Alice its no fairytale world that he finds. Instead it is our own world teeming with Interlopers-Those Who Abide. Unseen by the mass of humanity they are aware that Cody can now see them. They dont like it.

I am new to downloading audio but I've been listening to audiobooks from back when they were on tape. This book translates very well into audio. For the most part first person viewpoint. Vivid detail, nail biting adventure, romance (just enough to make it believable that the protagonist would go to the ends of the Earth to accomplish his goal), a bit of humor and room for many, many sequels. Did I mention how much I enjoyed the narration? Ben Browder does a wide range of voices but even better he creates that special character to listener bond. Hope he continues to do audio work
