Historia
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

Good story but not my favorite narrator
Revisado: 12-27-23
I loved the story and the world building. Very enjoyable but in a book that was so much about songs and singing why was there a narrator who wouldn’t sing? It ruined the flow of the story.

Historia
It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive. Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them - not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain.

Historia
For thirteen-year-old Jillian Robichaux, three things are sacred: bayou sunsets, her grandmother Nonnie’s stories, and the coastal Louisiana town of Boutin that she calls home. After the local school is padlocked and the bridges into town condemned, Jillian has no choice but to face the reality that she may be losing the only home she’s ever had.

When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh. Melanie loves school. She loves learning about spelling and sums and the world outside the classroom and the children's cells. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up.

The narrator is fine. Everyone calm down! :-)

What did you like best about this story?
It is a great series by Rick Riordan and this books look into Tartarus is great!
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
I hate when they switch narrators in the middle of a series! BUUUT there is awful review after awful review on here about it. It took me a couple of chapters to get used to him and he isn't as good as Nick Swanson but he still did a good job with the book. Don't miss out on the last 2 books just bc of the narrator switch.

Historia
Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Is this the same series??
Revisado: 04-04-16
What would have made A Feast for Crows better?
This book was not good at all. I hung in there as long as I could and finished about 3/4 of the book. I am not a person who ever leaves books unfinished but this time I quit. The original story was lost and the feel of the series was gone. Not worth the time or money!
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narrator changes how he pronounces names and places differently from one book to the next and one chapter to the next. It is maddening!!
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I was frustrated by this book! I felt that the new characters introduced were unnecessary and a lot of the old characters were not mentioned.
