Historia
Newly married Mrs. Jeffrey is found in the library of the old family mansion dead with a pistol tied to her wrist, and everyone is suspect. The library in the family mansion has a reputation for harboring dead men, and no one knows how or why this is so. First published in 1903, Green delivers a well-written mystery again. Who is innocent and who is not?

Historia
A popular question in philosophy is "How do I know I exist?" That seems really boring, though. How about, "How can I use logic to get over my ex?" If you really love wisdom, you love it in all situations - you don't need to be spoon fed unsolved problems in philosophy, because you're already analyzing the US Weekly you’re reading or your kinda significant other. Sarah Heuer and Chrissy Stockton are writers living in Minneapolis who are determined to do something more interesting with their philosophy degrees than talk about dead white guys.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I cannot imagine
Has PhiLOLZophy turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes. In fact I wouldn't have picked this book myself. I downloaded it as a free gift from Audible for Valentines Day. Previous free gifts have been really interesting, or fun. This was just annoying.
What aspect of Theresa McCarthy’s performance would you have changed?
I would have put a warning on the front of the book that I should not play it in front of my 5 year old by accident.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from PhiLOLZophy?
I would have cut F***, A**holes, and Sh**head from the book.
Any additional comments?
I understand that someone else may have liked this book. Next time you send me a free gift, please put something on the gift so I know not to play it in front of my child. I will probably skip it entirely and we'll all be happier.

Historia
In July 1890, Vincent van Gogh went into a cornfield and shot himself. Or did he? Why would an artist at the height of his creative powers attempt to take his life... and then walk a mile to a doctor's house for help? Who was the crooked little "color man" Vincent had claimed was stalking him across France? And why had the painter recently become deathly afraid of a certain shade of blue? These are just a few of the questions confronting Vincent's friends who vow to discover the truth of van Gogh's untimely death.

Yuck
Revisado: 08-09-12
What disappointed you about Sacre Bleu?
Recurrent, out of place, egregious use of obscenties
What could Christopher Moore have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
More historical detail, less use of obscene language and sex for shock-appeal. Stand on his merit as a story teller instead.
What does Euan Morton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He did a good job portraying the characters as individuals overall, so that the audible version of conversations was relatively easy to follow.
What character would you cut from Sacre Bleu?
I would leave that to the story teller.
Any additional comments?
I'll be more selective next time. When I listened to the sample in the Audible website, I didn't hear the obscenities that seem to pop around every corner in this book. I had hoped it would be historical fiction, not pulp.
