Historia
When African jihadis attack a Nigerian regiment using American weapons, Cabrillo and the Oregon crew are on the case, investigating from Afghanistan to Kuala Lumpur to track a mysterious arms dealer—a genius, or perhaps a devil—known only as the Vendor. Cabrillo goes undercover to find the Vendor’s base, but his adversary isn’t just an arms smuggler. He’s an arms maker, and Cabrillo just walked into a lethal military game alongside the most dangerous mercenaries in the world, designed to test the Vendor’s cutting-edge AI arsenal.

A few to many descriptive phrases
Revisado: 09-30-24
The book was ok, the end is better then the beginning, and the story was a little weak. No mad billionaire with a complex plan to rule the world here. What I really found annoying was the constant descriptive phrases about everything, Like a hockey forward cross checking a Zamboni is an example. Just to much

Cut out the first few hours
Revisado: 09-19-24
The end of the story is classic Sigma Force, action, and adventure. The beginning of the story is unnecessary, and extremely violent.

Historia
I walked up to the booking-office and uttered the magic words: 'Three singles to Adventure, please,' I said. 'First or second class?' said the clerk. So begins Gerald Durrell's account of the trip he made to South America in his quest to capture specimens. And what an adventure it was, encountering such creatures as the timid squirrel monkeys, wailing rats, an overly affectionate bird christened Cuthbert, a bad-tempered anaconda, and even piranhas.

My least favorite Dirk Pitt
Revisado: 05-02-23
I liked the twists at the end of the story, but Dirk is just to caveman. Smacking around the female lead, then Dirk, and her getting it on was way over the top.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Just not a good book
Revisado: 04-28-23
Not my kind of book just boring, predictable and depressing, could not finish the book. I didn't like the anti zoo message through out the story, and Marcellus is very pompous.

Historia
History recalls that the ugly feud between J. Edgar Hoover and Martin Luther King, Jr., - marked by years of illegal surveillance and the accumulation of secret files - ended on April 4, 1968, when King was assassinated by James Earl Ray. But that may not have been the case. Now, 50 years later, former Justice Department agent Cotton Malone must reckon with the truth of what really happened that fateful day in Memphis.

Not really a Cotton Malone
Revisado: 04-06-18
Would you try another book from Steve Berry and/or the narrators?
Yes I have listened to all his books
Has The Bishop's Pawn turned you off from other books in this genre?
Not really
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I like Scott Brick, but always think of the NUMA files
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Not really
Any additional comments?
This just isn't a Cotton Malone story, I have listened to all the Malone book. Really came across as a rant about Hoover and the FBI. Those books are good, but not a Cotton Malone adventure.

Historia
In 1518, in a small town in Alsace, Frau Troffea began dancing and didn't stop. She danced until she was carried away six days later, and soon 34 more villagers joined her. Then more. In a month more than 400 people had been stricken by the mysterious dancing plague. In late-19th-century England an eccentric gentleman founded the No Nose Club in his gracious townhome - a social club for those who had lost their noses, and other body parts, to the plague of syphilis for which there was then no cure.

What disappointed you about Get Well Soon?
Well I really enjoy books like this, and have listened to several. I have to admit, to only making it two hours before turning the book off, My problem, I just do not see the need for all of the gender based offensive little comments,

Historia
In the gloom it came along the branches towards me, its round, hypnotic eyes blazing, its spoon-like ears turning to and fro independently like radar dishes.... I had had my first encounter with an aye-aye and I decided that this was one of the most incredible creatures I had ever been privileged to meet. Madagascar, in the Indian Ocean off the southeastern coast of Africa, is one of the most fascinating islands in the world. It is home to five per cent of the world’s plant and animal species. Ninety per cent of its flora and fauna are found nowhere else....
