Historia
The child of a scheming father and ruthless mother, Lady Jane Grey is born during a time when ambition dictates action. Cousin to Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I, she is merely a pawn in a political and religious game in which one false step means a certain demise. But Lady Jane has remarkable qualities that help her to withstand the constant pressures of the royal machinery far better than most expect.

Great historical fiction
Revisado: 01-26-09
Very good historical fiction. This brings history (factual or not) to life. The narrators are ok for some of the characters and others are very good.

Historia
The Boleyn Inheritance is a novel drawn tight as a lute string about a court ruled by the gallows and three women whose positions brought them wealth, admiration, and power - as well as deceit, betrayal, and terror. Once again, Philippa Gregory has brought a vanished world to life: the whisper of a silk skirt on a stone stair, the yellow glow of candlelight illuminating a hastily written note, the murmurs of the crowd gathering on Tower Green below the newly built scaffold.

Interesting, but very technical. I had to go back several times if I was working and not paying attention while the book was on.

pretty good historical murder mystery

Overall, this was a good book. It's not fast paced and doesn't have any scene stealers, but it is a good read.

This narrator brings the story to life and will have you chuckling the whole way through at her highly proper attitude to ridiculous events. I love Elizabeth Peters' series.

I love Diana Gabaldon's Outlander Series and recommend it to everyone. This is the fourth book in the series, start at the beginning... Absolutely one of the best narrators I've come across. Davina Porter is terrific at all the English and Scottish accents.

The second time she reunited with her lost love but had to leave behind the daughter that he would never see. Now Brianna, from her 1960s vantage point, has found a disturbing obituary and will risk everything in an attempt to change history.

Historia
My Man Jeeves, first published in 1919, introduced the world to affable, indolent Bertie Wooster and his precise, capable valet, Jeeves. Some of the finest examples of humorous writing found in English literature are woven around the relationship between these two men of very different classes and temperaments. Where Bertie is impetuous and feeble, Jeeves is coolheaded and poised.

Hilarious
Revisado: 01-26-09
This book and narrator had me laughing the whole way through. What absurdities there are in Hollywood, but very funny. I had to get used to the narrator's flat voice, but it really does suit the character. Her Southern leading man accent is dead on and she makes him come to life. There is a lot of bad language in this and some scenes you would not want to listen to without headphones or privacy.
