Historia
'It was the best of times, it was the worst of times'; so the recording begins and ends with some of Dickens's best-known words, and between those lines is every Briton's view of the worst excesses of the French Revolution. Set in London and Paris before and during the French Revolution, the audiobook tells the story of a French doctor who is imprisoned for 18 years in the Bastille in Paris. Upon his release, he moves to London with his daughter, Lucie, whom he had never met.

The best narration of this book
Revisado: 04-14-20
There are many versions of Tale of Two Cities, and this one is excellent. I sampled several, and listened to another for quite a while and did not like any other narration. As for the book, it needs no review. I will only say that, if you are interested in understanding the personal and societal toll of "Revolution", this book is essential.

Historia
A Tale of Two Cities is a story of love, mystery, suspense, and action all rolled up into one beautifully written novel taking place in two prominent cities, Paris and London, during the French Revolution. The story follows the release and rehabilitation of Dr. Manette, a man falsely imprisoned in the Bastille in France for almost two decades. While trouble is brewing in France with citizens being starved and taxed to death, Dr. Manette is taken to London by Mr. Lorrie, a prominent business man, and Lucie, Dr. Manette's daughter.

Narrated too fast!!
Revisado: 03-10-20
If you don't like your stories read too quickly, you will not like this version. The voices are well done, but Dickens' brilliant and sometimes long narrated sections were unlistenable to me as read by this narrator. These sections were very fast and without any nuance. I will be returning this version and looking for one I like better.
