Compelling!

I am a big fan of Barry’s books and I swear he is just getting better and better. I was really intrigued to see how he was going to keep the characters straight and still show them moving from world to world and meeting different versions of the people they knew. I think he did a really good job at this aspect of the story. His books always surprise me in some way, which is why I think I like him so much. This was no exception.

Her (very complicated) mother has just passed away. And Holly is meant to be on leave. But something in Penny’s desperate voice makes it impossible to turn her down. Meanwhile, mere blocks from where Bonnie Dahl disappeared live Professors Rodney and Emily Harris. But they are also harboring a shocking, unholy secret.

Good to hear from Holly again!

This was a worthy third book in the series and very enjoyable to listen to. King did a good job of weaving the state of the world throughout the story and making his fictional characters have a place in it. My only complaint was that the format of the chapter titles being dates that went back and forth in history was a little tough to follow in audio format, but the story helped clear it up as I went along.
