made me smile
Revisado: 07-07-22
I got this book based on the reviews and have to say that I wasn't disappointed. While the ending was predictable with all loose ends tied up with a pretty bow, the journey Albert took to finding himself and the community he found along the way, made me smile. That he had fears and worries, and worked to overcome them, that more than once, he stepped out of his safe comfortable box to find who he was and what he was looking for.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

Loved this story ! Just listened 2nd time now. So many great parts and lessons. I was driving when I started to laugh hard, tears rolled down my face. At the part Matthew spit a loogie back into his own face.
I love that Matthew is a real down to earth good heart and beautiful soul man. His father will always smile .
To make this story into a movie one day after he retires from acting would awesome. Have shared this with others. Thanks for uplifting story.

Another rousing Beryl and Edwina mystery
Revisado: 06-11-19
The author does a wonderful job of developing the characters of Beryl and Edwina in this second mystery. The story had just enough red herrings to make it entertaining without being convoluted. I will recommend this series to others.

Hooray for Madame Lefoux
Revisado: 02-18-19
Finally, Madame Lefoux has the opportunity for happiness. The story touches on Genevieve and Alexia’s relationship, how Woolsey Castle fared under the vampires overseeing, and introduces another wonderfully strong but not one dimensional character. It was rather fun to play “find the character” as several former denizens of Carriger’s novels make appearances. Anyone who loved the original Soulless series and is open to the many forms of love will enjoy the book.

Gay werewolves in Victorian London? Why yes, yes there are.
Biffy, newly minted Alpha of the London Pack, is not having a good Christmas. His Beta abandoned him, his werewolves object to his curtain choices, and someone keeps leaving babies on his doorstep.
Professor Randolph Lyall returns home to London after 20 years abroad, afraid of what he might find. With his pack in chaos and his Alpha in crisis, it will take all his Beta efficiency to set everything to rights. Perhaps, in the process, he may even determine how to mend his own heart.

About time...
Revisado: 02-09-19
This was a wonderful installment of the Parasolverse. After Lyall and Biffy’s separation at the end of “Timeless”, I have been waiting for this story to continue. I was surprised at the intricacies of the two getting reacquainted, absorbed in the events around them as they came to terms with their relationship as alpha and beta, and happy to learn more about the pack which was so much in the background of Soulless, etc.

Historia
Sherlock Holmes is an unparalleled genius who uses the gift of deduction and reason to solve the most vexing of crimes. Warlock Holmes, however, is an idiot. A good man, perhaps; a font of arcane power, certainly. But he’s brilliantly dim. Frankly, he couldn’t deduce his way out of a paper bag. The only things he has really got going for him are the might of a thousand demons and his stalwart flatmate. Thankfully, Dr. Watson is always there to aid him through the treacherous shoals of Victorian propriety...

Revisado: 11-27-17
I mean Sherlock Holmes as a bumbling Warlock? And then it goes and works, and works well. The Conan-Doyle style is there, the mysteries are there, the twist is there. I think the reader really differentiated well between Watson and Holmes, I enjoyed the interactions the author put in.

Very enjoyable new mystery
Revisado: 06-09-17
This one went up and down and sideways and kept my attention quite nicely. I enjoyed the fact that this took us outside of the current climate of 'CSI this, Tech that' and they had to figure it out using their brain. Also, while this book has a bit of religion, it's used completely in context to the main character and the time frame when this takes place.
