Historia
Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College-Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is–unless she betrays the man she loves.

The Audio
Revisado: 07-20-25
The only part of the recording that was a slight issue was the audio switching from up close to far away. Other than that, it made the story engaging with the right emotions. Looking forward to the rest of the series

Rare that I see a movie before reading the book
Revisado: 12-18-24
I usually do the other way around but it was because I heard of the movie first. I didn’t think the movie was good at first but I later came to liking it and I could picture a lot of what was going on like in the movie while appreciating the illustrations in the book. The song in between some of the chapters caught me off guard once but hauntingly beautiful

Historia
The series takes place in a world similar to our own but one where vampires, witches, werewolves and shape-shifters live among humans without their knowledge. These supernatural races make up a secret society known as the Night World, which enforces two fundamental laws to prevent discovery: 1) Never allow humans to gain knowledge of the Night World's existence and, 2) Never fall in love with one of them.

Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

Interesting Read
Revisado: 06-19-24
As weird as this may be, I found that interesting is better than scary to describe this book. Much like Under the Dome and The Stand, the only other two I’ve read up until this point, the story was unsettling when it comes to be in one place for so long and how it affects the way one interacts with people

Historia
Bryan Cranston landed his first role at seven, when his father, a struggling actor and director, cast him in a United Way commercial. Soon Bryan was haunting the local movie theater, memorizing and reenacting favorite scenes with his older brother. Acting was clearly the boy's destiny - until one day his father disappeared. Suddenly destiny took a backseat to survival. Seeking something more stable, perhaps subconsciously trying to distance himself from his absent father, Cranston decided on a career in law enforcement.

What a Telling of a Man’s Life
Revisado: 11-04-23
I have enjoyed Bryan Cranston’s acting work and this felt like a behind the scenes look as well as a look at his life beyond acting, like the people he met. He read it well and I recommend it to others who love his work

Still Great
Revisado: 06-03-23
I first read this book when I was between the age of nine to my preteen years and loved it because of how intriguing (in more ways than one) it was becoming a woman at an early age and the book had all of the feels on the subject. It was also quotable which, decades later, made me very happy to see it in movie form

Mind-Bending Exciting Conclusion
Revisado: 12-17-22
There was lot to figure out on where it was going, but that seemed to be the idea. The girls were still intriguing despite it was a story done before of someone wanting to live someone else's life. The ending also left feeling/presenting there's a spinoff series that hopefully picks up the story well

Historia
She won't rest until she's sent every walking corpse back to its grave. Forever. Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed. From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined? Please. But that's all it took. One heartbeat. A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone. Her father was right. The monsters are real.

Historia
During his years in a neural-health facility, Pat Peoples has formulated a theory about silver linings. He believes that his life is a movie produced by God, that his mission is to become physically fit and emotionally supportive, and that if he succeeds, his happy ending will be the return of his estranged wife, Nikki. When Pat goes to live with his parents, everything seems changed: no one will talk to him about Nikki, and his new therapist seems to be recommending adultery as a form of therapy.

Inspiring
Revisado: 07-26-21
Despite the moments when the main character was so intense that I had to lower the volume some, the whole thing felt true to life. Spoilers starting here: It was crazy when he kept wanting his wife back but the acceptance and willingness to move on was good. I will say, from this being the second time of reading and the soon-to-be second time watching the movie, the ending of showing Pat and Tiffany together in the movie was nice, but this one was better

Historia
Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

Beautiful
Revisado: 07-13-21
This is my second time reading this book, first time with the Audible, and it's still a wonderful. I know when the two loved ones meet is strange, and I always try to imagine it could be better if the guy met the girl either when he's closer to the girl's age somehow or at least wait until she older. But it's nice that beyond that their relationship seems normal. I also enjoy all of the characters and how they made me laugh
