Best at applying Biblical teaching to life.
Revisado: 05-02-25
Pure gold. Anything by Spurgeon is great, but his application of Scripture to life (in this case the pastoral ministry) is second to none.n

Historia
At the moment when Jesus entered the realm of redemptive history, God's people and the hurting world needed no further promises or prophecies. The one thing they lacked was fulfillment—they needed the promised Messiah and his consummate kingdom to come. Noted theologian O. Palmer Robertson's three-volume Christ of the Consummation explores progressive revelation across the redemptive history of the New Testament.

Historia
American evangelical Christianity has lost its way. While the witness of the church before a watching world is diminished beyond recognition, congregations are torn apart over Donald Trump, Christian nationalism, racial injustice, sexual predation, disgraced leaders, and covered-up scandals. Left behind are millions of believers who counted on the church to be a place of belonging and hope. As greater and greater numbers of younger Americans bleed out from the church, even the most rooted evangelicals are wondering, “Can American Christianity survive?”

Some good Observations and Terrible Conclusions
Revisado: 08-30-23
Moore lumps all Bible believing, white (he's careful to make certain that you know the boogeyman is white, male, American. and voted for Trump) men together as really just holding to a form of religion that expresses their hidden racism, misogyny, and xenophobia. While he rightly points out a few big names in Evangelicalism (that a whole lot if evangelicals can't stand and condemn), he seems to imply that only those outlaw Christians (like himself) who have left the major evangelical denominations, are part of something closer to a revival of the Klan than to congregations seeking to be faithful to the Scriptures.
Disagree strongly with women's ordination because you're pretty certain the Bible does? You're majoring on minors and possibly a misogynist. Belong to a Southern Baptist Church. you're probably aiding and abetting sexual predators. Voted for Trump, probably a racist who recognized his dog whistles to put things right again.
Moore is a smart guy with an impressive cv for an evangelical. Grew up in Mississippi, SBC since birth. was part of the leadership of the denomination at the seminary and political level, but he's seen the error if his ways. No doubt there was a lot of garbage he saw, but the problem is he denounces neatly everybody whose Biblical convictions lead them to believe that "believing all women" is not Biblical. Wanting and believing it's okay to be cautious about who you let into the country is probably tied to xenophobia and/or racism. Believing Trump is a better candidate than say Hillary Clinton, that's seemingly an admission to all the above wrapped in one.
The problem with Moore isn't just that he claims to mainly believe what he always has, but that He gives no answers besides revival and read your Bible while seemingly putting nearly all evangelicals into the camp of the unwashed who haven't read their Bibles and come to separate conclusions, but as closeted, ignorant bigots who just follow whatever (EXTREME!) media sites such as Fox News parrot all the while consistently appearing on MSNBC -funny how the people who really love the new Moore tend to not be Christians. in the end, Moore himself outs himself by attacking people who've never been prosecuted or found guilty of anything in Christianity Today. He talks about "believing victims" while very likely slandering those who are wives and daughters of those falsely accused. Moore is for you IF you line up with his political affiliations.
