I love Kate Reading and Michael Kramer individually, they are awesome narrators. But together they make magic. And this series opener to a world of dragons, assassins, and secrets was was brought to life by thier vocal talents. What a great and intricate story! it's captivating, thrilling, and takes you away for the first leg of what is proving to be an epic journey.

Perfection
Revisado: 09-17-20
This book is perfection, not because it allows all of its likeable characters and obvious and not so obvious heroes to live long, bountiful lives in a fairytale happily ever after, but because it allows each character's individual tale to end, wrap up or leave off in a manner that is true to each character and the world at large. Life does not end with death. Time does not stop for any one person. Change is inevitable. You can try to influence others, but the most control you can hope to assert is over your own life. All of this and more holds true for this epic tale. Perfection!

Get It
Revisado: 06-12-20
If you don't own this audiobook series, get it! Not only is it well written with perfectly defined characters and awesome unpredictable moments, but it has a lure that will hold you transfixed. You will want to listen to all three books in one sitting and get frustrated when life interrupts this epic tale.

Historia
Sasha is a fighter, the likes of which the highland country of Lenayin has never seen. Spurning her royal heritage to be raised by the great warrior Kessligh, Sasha's exquisite swordplay astonishes all who see it. But she is young, untested in battle, and often led by her rash temper. In the complex world of Lenayin loyalties, her willfulness is attracting the wrong kind of attention. Lenin is a land divided by its beliefs: the Verenthane of the ruling class, and the pagan Goeren-yai, amongst whom Sasha now lives.

Caught and Sucked In
Revisado: 05-13-20
This book captured my attention at the first and held it through the end. What a great way to begin a series! The end of this first installment had my craving more. I loved the well defined characters, the cities and landscapes that were painted clearly in my mind's eye and a story so well developed that I felt like a character moving through each chapter. I truly appreciated the lack of predictability, the obvious effort to put forth an awesome story and the perfect narration of my favorite narrator, Kate Reading. Thank you, Joel Shepard.

Historia
For 500 years the immortal Children of the Light, einherjar and valkyrie, have lived together in the North of Valdyrgard. They were born out of the Sea, each with a shining crystal sword in his or her hand; they are Angels of Light created in the formation of a new world. The Children spend their days feasting, fighting, hunting, and guarding their human charges. But one dreadful day a woman is washed up from the sea, a Lady who is not mortal. Thus begins the breaking of the Children of the Light, the tarnishing of their power, and the death of Valdyrgard.

I did like it
Revisado: 08-22-19
At first I was disappointed that Michael Kramer and Kate Reading were not the narrator's for the story as they were with book 1, but I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised with the narrators. I believe that they did a good job and I will look for other books that they have narrated.
I thought the story was too short and I did want more, but what was there was definitely good stuff. I enjoyed the adventure, the new characters, and the back stories of the beloved characters from book 1. I will definitely continue with this series.

Historia
It all began with Ragnarok, with the Children of the Light and the Tarnished ones battling to the death in the ice and the dark. At the end of the long battle, one Valkyrie survived, wounded, and one valraven - the steeds of the valkyrie. Because they lived, Valdyrgard was not wholly destroyed. Because the valraven was transformed in the last miracle offered to a Child of the Light, Valdyrgard was changed to a world where magic and technology worked hand in hand.

In The End
Revisado: 08-13-19
It took a while for me to get into the audiobook. I restarted it 3 times as I would lose focus during the story. But, it gets moving and is an interesting tale that took me to a world(s) that I'm glad I was able to visit. The narrators are the best and 2 of my 3 favorites, and they do not disappoint with the telling of this story. I intend to purchase the next book.

Revisado: 09-26-18
Not only is this a well-written adventure, but the audio book is superbly narrated. I did not know this author but I'm a fan of Kate Reading from her narration of my very first Audible Epic Fantasy series, so I decided to give this writer a try. I am pleased with the characters and the story, but I'm not pleased that it left me wanting more. I must seek out the other books! Audible I hope you have them!
