This is a favorite series. Because the characters grow and change, it never gets old. Still best if one starts at the beginning of the series.

Post apocalypse marriage

Drea is a survivor in a post apocalyptic world where over 80 percent of women died of a plague. She has a lot of baggage from her pre-apocalypse upbringing, and her goal is to help save enslaved women , whatever the cost. She teams up with Eric to save women from the motor cycle club that was once led by her father in the new country of Texas. Along the way they pick up a couple other men to help. This is just the first step in an interesting story. In this society, one woman must marry 5 men, and Drea has avoided this until Eric and her new friends. Drea is a total bad-ass who can kick ass and take names with the best. While I enjoyed the story, the sex scenes, while important to the plot, were a bit graphic for my taste.

New take on vampires

Mor is a 99 years young vampire who is enrolled in a supernatural academy with other supernaturals such as shape shifters, etc. Her best friend is a kraken and 3 werewolves are interested in her. But there are also bullies. When a murder occurs and it appears that it was set up for Mor to take the blame, she, with the help of her friends work to figure it out. The story was fun, and I enjoyed, but the narrator was disappointing, and sometimes pronounced words oddly, which was distracting.

Fun take on supernaturals

I received these audiobooks for an unbiased review. I enjoyed this story of Morwena going to school after she is 100 (a teenager in vampire chronology). She comes from a leading family of vamps and her family has high expectations of her. Of course there are mean girls, and hot guys. Her best friend is a kraken.
Mor and her best friend have a murder to solve and the wolf pack help her.
There is a story plot and an overall series plot.
The narration was uneven and occasionally she pronounced words unconventionally which I found irritating or jarring.

Martha works as a volunteer at a library. when a man leaves a book for her, it reopens memories, mysteries and old wounds. very satisfying read.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would highly recommend this to fans of Urban Fantasy. I love Jim Butcher and have read the rest of his books in print, this is the first I've listened to. It's a different experience, but very enjoyable.

What other book might you compare Cold Days to and why?

It's Urban Fantasy which includes the myths associated with Faery as well as others. It's the latest in the Harry Dresden series and takes a fantastic series in new and interesting directions.

Don't know yet.

I'm only 2/3 through the book, and my son told me there are interesting twists yet to come; I'm looking forward to them.
