Historia
When Chief Joe Pfeifer led his firefighters to investigate an odor of gas in downtown Manhattan on the morning of 9/11, he had no idea that his life was about to change forever. A few moments later, he watched as the first plane crashed into the World Trade Center. Pfeifer, the closest FDNY chief to the scene, spearheaded rescue efforts on one of the darkest days in American history.

The truths that were told and respectful way Chief Pfeifer told them.
Revisado: 12-10-24
My brother Jim and an old classmate of mine Tom recently passed of 911 illnesses. Sadly what Chief Pfeifer said in the book has come true. My brother was the 375th firefighter to pass since the 343 perished that day. I appreciate how the facts presented and the actions taken since 911 have improved the way that emergency services organizations in NYC and around the world have used the lessons learned to improve interactions across agencies.

It’s just one of the many revealing stories about battling blazes and numerous other dangers in America’s fifth-largest city—home of the nation’s first fire company—in this autobiography of his thirty-seven-year career with the Philadelphia Fire Department. During his entire career Marchisello kept a journal ...

Voice AI isn’t there yet.

The narration was poor. In a book with acronyms and numbers the voice always messed up. If I didn’t enjoy the topic I probably would have stopped listening.
