I took several breaks to listen to tracks as she tells her story. Lions tigers and bears hits so different now. It’s something about knowing the backstory behind something that makes it mean more. Beautiful story

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

On one hand I feel seen and heard but also annoyed because as the author pointed out, the victims can’t speak up for fear of retribution. Great book anyone who identifies as an ally should have a copy of this book highlighted, quoted, and committed to memory.

Historia
The first family of Miami, the Diamonds, are back and more ruthless than ever. When the family has to deal with the sins of the father, karma comes back and rests on the shoulders of Carter “CJ” Jones II. The life his father never wanted for him calls him, and the allure of family tradition sucks him in so deep that he falls victim to the game. This story shows the second coming of a king and solidifies the cartel family tree in the roots of the streets forever.
