First of all, I am an educator, 76 years old and a Democrat. I watched Jan 6 unfold and prayed for those who were there. I feared for everyone on that day, especially students who were too young to understand what adults were doing in the presence of the whole world. Liz Cheney remains a Republican even during these hard times. The book and history lack one thing I need to learn--- my reason for buying the book. What will she do next to lead us to a better place? Write your plan, Liz.. Let us get behind you.. if not YOU, then where is another? What are the next steps? I want more than history. Don't chronicle this horror and leave the spotlight. Join with others. We desperately need someone to lead.

I listen to Lamott's books to renew my faith and to release my guilt, sharing the laughter that comes from her wonderful honest testimony. However, I had a reaction listening to Dust, Night, Dawn that I've never experienced before-- not from a book. . Anne was comparing/describing her parents to the artifacts of each of her parents. As she was comparing/describing her mother's life and feelings --- I stopped the audio. NO, Wait. That's MY mother..I watched that pain and I know what comes next.... I can't hear this, not yet. What a writer! But prepare yourself. It's her very best.

It was difficult to hear this story as it was so familiar - the tattoos that break family members' hearts and the laughter of the drunken adult children as they explain their quick, painful exit plans from life. It is painful, but important to relive each of the hopes and disappointments. This book made me question whether Dave's understanding and patience was the way to make peace with his grandson's life choices. Well done, Dave. I can't seem to get there myself. I am angry. I haven't stopped hoping that my son will come back to us. He's 54.

Love better

I have been a fan for a long time, but after reading Higher is Waiting, I'm inspired. I want to do better and live better. I heard that TP had picked up the grocery bills of older people during the Covid-19 special hours. He gives because he is blessed, but he worked hard to get where he is. We are the same... blessed. I want to love better. Thank you for this wonderful guidebook.

The writer did her research and gave me a picture of myself in the same situation as many of the poor on the road every day. This book inspires me to support hard-working people wherever I find them.

The author showed respect and understanding for the various players in the story. It was believable, and that's important to me. Narration was excellent. I recommend it.

I sometimes mix up the characters in Audio books, but that didn't happened with this one. The story was easy to follow, meaningful, and clear. I remember the details of this book. The images that the author wrote became experiences for me. This type of beautiful book is why I ready. Thank you.
