Historia
When seventeen-year-old Bailey starts a new job at a hotel waterpark, she is less than thrilled to see an old acquaintance is one of her coworkers. Bailey met Charlie a year ago on the long flight to Omaha, where she moved after her parents’ divorce. Charlie’s cynicism didn’t mix well with Bailey’s carefully well-behaved temperament, and his endless commentary was the irritating cherry on top of an already emotionally fraught trip. Now, Bailey and Charlie are still polar opposites, but instead of everything about him rubbing Bailey the wrong way, she starts to look forward to hanging out.

Not for me - age 13
Revisado: 03-18-25
Too much foul language. I listened to this book everyday on our commute to school with my mom. We were both extremely annoyed every time Charlie spoke and started counting how many F bombs he would drop. The story was just OK. It really drags on and I just wanted it to be over. I only liked the last chapter and wanted to fast forward to the end. I was so happy with two other of this authors books but this one was disappointing.

Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Revisado: 06-21-18
This is an absolutely fascinating book that I highly recommend anyone read and enjoy. It’s quite a lot of fascinating information but I definitely believe my life has improved by taking time away from social media and TV and investing into the worthwhile pursuit of continually learning. You won’t be disappointed with your investment of time in this book.

For over three decades, the great inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil has been one of the most respected and provocative advocates of the role of technology in our future. In his classic The Age of Spiritual Machines, he argued that computers would soon rival the full range of human intelligence at its best. Now he examines the next step in this inexorable evolutionary process: the union of human and machine.

I saw quite a few reviews that were saying the content of this book is great but the narrator is so bad he's impossible to listen to. However, Audible and most other software we use to listen to audiobooks comes with a feature that allows you to change the speed of the playback. Simply change it to 1.25 or 1.5 X and you'll have a wonderful experience listening to this amazing and deeply insightful book

They fail not because they don't offer great services and products, but because the owners are extremely uncomfortable with traditional marketing and sales. The result is a frustrated, isolated, and overwhelmed business owner who does not know there is an entirely different, highly successful approach to marketing and sales available—and it's laid out in Book Yourself Solid.

Where does The Way We're Working Isn't Working rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This fresh perspective on efficiency and productivity is truly groundbreaking and is the culmination of a brilliant career writing about leaders and organizations to effect change and studying the science of high performance. He has co-authored books with the likes of Donald Trump and Michael Eisner and is currently the CEO of the Energy Project dedicated to energizing people by creating a framework within organizations that encourages employees to find meaning and purpose in their careers.
The way we are working isn't working brings understanding of how to maximize our productivity and performance through a scientific look at our use of energy, motivation, and willpower. It has great practical action steps that anyone can implement effectively doubling or tripling their productivity. I'm a believer and I highly recommend this book.
