Historia
Mariana de Allerston was committed to the cloister of Whitby Abbey by her father who deemed her incorrigible for a tryst with a stable servant. For a noble family, that was a deeply shameful thing. They trusted that the nuns of Whitby would cure their daughter’s craving for unworthy flesh. But what Mariana’s father didn’t realize was that Whitby Abbey was under the control of a demon.

Disappointed- Predictable story
Revisado: 02-14-24
Very short and a waste of my credit. The entire story was predictable and I wish I hadn’t purchased it.

Historia
From #1 New York Times-best-selling author Nora Roberts comes a novel of a woman who needs nothing, a man who sees everything, and the web of deceit, greed, and danger that brings them together - and that could tear them apart… As a professional house-sitter and freelance writer, nothing ties Lila Emerson down - not her work, not a home, and definitely not a relationship. She spends her life moving from one job to the next, sometimes crashing at a friend's Manhattan apartment.

Very enjoyable read

Loved the story and the characters, even if the Ash Archer seemed a bit overly bossy.

Good story but sick of the constant eye color mention.
Revisado: 02-21-23
Sick of the cornflower blue eyes. Geez that’s a bit of overkill. But the story was good.

Couldn't keep my interest
Revisado: 06-26-17
Maybe it's me but, I couldn't get into the story. Too many references to madness, and not enough character development early in the book.

Revisado: 08-06-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend it. I love the entire Outlander and Lord John series, and can't wait to read more. The way Gabaldon weaves the story, it is very easy to imagine being there.
What did you like best about this story?
I very much enjoy the writing style and how this humanizes Lord John.
What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?
I like his performance because I didn't have to even think of the narrator, only being caught up in the story. I've listened to some audiobooks, where the breathing, and yes - even snorting & swallowing sounds were very evident....so much so that I was so distracted I couldn't finish the story. He did a very nice job.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Nothing extreme
Any additional comments?

I Bought This For One Story
- De MJ en 08-08-11
Too much narrative by author. 1st story boring.
Revisado: 06-05-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Less upfront narrative...much too wordy and didn't get to the point. First story had me ready for a nap. I'll skip to the Gabaldon story and see if it gets better.
