Historia
For Jonathon Roth and his family, a vacation in Cozumel became a nightmare. Pawns in a deadly ritual, Roth and his children barely escaped with their lives, and with the secrets of mastermind Jacob Calakmul. Calakmul’s endgame: to fulfill the Jaguar Prophecies—the foretelling of an inevitable Armageddon, one that will destroy entire nations. The key to stopping it is to retrieve an ancient codex—if Roth can decipher it.

Another great read
Revisado: 02-28-24
Like so many of Jeff Wheeler's other books, it's just good from start to finish. I love the amped up action and plot twists that this series has that his other books don't. Again great read. Sad that May is so far away for the next one.

Historia
Anora Silby can see the dead and turn spirits into gold coins, two things she would prefer to keep secret as she tries to lead a normal life at her new school. After all, she didn't change her identity for nothing. Hiding her weirdness is just one of many challenges. By the end of her first day, she's claimed the soul of a dead girl on campus and lost the coin. Turns out, the coin gives others the ability to steal souls, and when a classmate ends up dead, there's no mistaking the murder weapon.

Scarlett St. Clair always tells a good story
Revisado: 01-23-23
I love the concept of the book and it's characters. As a St. Clair fan, I feel that the building and exploring of these characters weren't full developed. Each character entrance lacked depth and full explanation of their back story, powers and plot. Overall still a great read and listen just could have had more meat on the bones for readers.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Another one by the Great Stephen King
Revisado: 10-03-22
I loved the truth of this fairy tale. The truth is that people struggle and the fairy tale is overcoming that struggle and being a hero in someone's eyes. Stephen King gave me that over and over in Mr. Bowditch, Charlie's father and then in Charlie himself. You don't have to be perfect to be a hero but you do have to give a damn and try. Long read but well worth it.

Historia
A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper and resonated in unimaginable ways. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

Neil Gaiman does it again
Revisado: 03-02-21
I initially struggled to get into the book and then I fell. Not only in love but deep into this book. I love the way that Neil Gaiman uses his words as a paint brush to stroke his story vividly into our brains. I felt the fear, love, loyalty and loss of each word from this book. May you fall madly truly deeply too!

This was the perfect ending to the most delightful story I've ever read. I finished all 3 books in under 3 weeks time. This is the most captivating world with the most extraordinary lead characters. You will feel lost and found, true hope and irreparable despair, real love and wretched hate through these characters. All while believing in magic.
