Historia
After a devastating loss, Brynn Wilder escapes to Wharton, a tourist town on Lake Superior, to reset, and checks into a quaint boardinghouse. In her fellow lodgers, she finds a friendly company of strangers: the frail Alice, cared for by a married couple with a heartbreaking story of their own; LuAnn, the eccentric and lovable owner of the inn; and Dominic, an unsettlingly handsome man inked from head to toe in mesmerizing tattoos. But in this inviting refuge, a mystery begins to swirl. Alice knows things about Brynn, about all of them, that she shouldn’t.

It’s good
Revisado: 11-08-24
Here’s the thing for me…I’ve always enjoyed Wendy Webb’s books. I have every one of her books in print, kindle, and audio. Great novelist. She truly writes fantastic stories. However, she made a post on IG that I had commented on. Her opinion based off of a picture and then mine which included facts regarding the picture and a university in Texas. She literally blocked me for it. My response was not rude, just factual compared to a picture she posted. Moral of my rant….her books truly are great. Great writer…except for when you challenge her factually. While I find her behavior childish, her books are truly great. I say read or listen to her books. Heck, do both bc that’s what I did. Just don’t follow on social media and state facts to her non-truth and you’re golden.

Historia
When Nicole Rayburn travels to Lockwood Hall and begins to research Alys’s story for a new book, she discovers startling irregularities in Alys’s case. Nicole’s suspicions mount as every answer leads to more questions. What really happened to Alys? And what became of her son, who disappeared the day she was hanged? Could it be that Alys’s death was the result of a well-planned conspiracy, or is there another, less obvious answer? And who is trying to sabotage Nicole's efforts by stealing her work?

A must read
Revisado: 03-13-22
There are simply not enough words to properly describe the artwork that was put into this book. Irina Shapiro wrote a book of intrigue, emotion, elation, heartbreak while mending the heart all at once.
I have never read one of her books, but I am a forever fan. I came across this book as a recommendation based off of my love for Wendy Webb books.
The Hanging Tree will take you on an adventure from present day to the 1600’s. A story that grips your interest from the very beginning.
I cannot express how much I recommend this book. Please take the journey with Alyc and Nicole. Hearing both woman’s heartache of past to present was so well done, I couldn’t help but cry in pain, the cry with tears of joy.
The narrator, Jess Nahikian was fantastic. Hands down the BEST narrator I have ever listened to.
Please do yourself a favor and allow yourself to be immersed into a novel that will leave you with the best book hangover you will ever experience.
