Well done, eye-opening true crime story

Very well written and performed, it kept me listening to find out what happened next. The conclusion taught me about issues I didn’t know about before.

Historia
Michael Pollan, known for his best-selling nonfiction audio, including The Omnivores Dilemma and How to Change Your Mind, conceived and wrote Caffeine: How Caffeine Created the Modern World as an Audible Original. In this controversial and exciting listen, Pollan explores caffeine’s power as the most-used drug in the world - and the only one we give to children (in soda pop) as a treat.

Glad the author decided it was worthwhile!

I wish all people could get this kind of perspective on our culture and habits. I’m a chemist with an interest in psychoactive compounds, but a lack of historical knowledge, so this was very interesting to me. I like my tea and coffee, and am not ready to give it up soon (especially since I work night shift). However, the data on sleep is compelling, especially since I work nights! I’m over 50, and my youngest daughter turns 18 next month, so I aspire to having a healthier, less sleep deprived life some day. Thanks, Michael Pollan, for writing this, and reading it out loud for me (and everyone).
