Historia
Beckett Langfield is grumpy, rich and hates kids. I’m an overworked, overstressed, and overweight single mom. The only reason we’re getting married is because he needs to fix a PR disaster and I am available. As in sitting next to him, in a bar, when he has this brilliant idea. Considering I just got divorced, I’m not looking to do that again. But Beckett makes me an offer that I literally can’t refuse, so I don’t.

Despite the single mom meets billionaire premise, great!

Character development was good, cute kid personality descriptions and kid voices on target (Finn’s voice awesome) and scenes of intimacy were amazing!

Historia
Wendi Wise is a troubled young woman who snorts her breakfast through a straw and spends more time in rehab than in the real world. Her life is seemingly out of control. But now she has a plan. That plan involves a sharp set of butcher knives. She's going back to where all of her troubles began...Flocksdale. Wendi was lured away from a local skating rink, at the age of 13, and held captive in a place she calls The House of Horrors. Dumped off blindfolded on the side of a dirt road, Wendi soon discovered that she was addicted to the drugs they fed her while she was captive.

What happened to editing for quality?
Revisado: 12-22-24
I liked the idea of revenge and a happy ending. I disliked the amount of times the author repeated the same word in one sentence or in consecutive sentences. It was as if AI went behind the author to add words to meet a quota! And a cop potentially throwing away his career for her? I mean, I know it’s fiction but this bordered on fantasy!

Sweet, funny, engaging story!
Revisado: 12-04-24
I liked that the author took time to develop the characters on a deeper level, unveiling key information at the right time in the story. I disliked that I had to keep reminding myself that this kind of man doesn’t exist! Haha!

Historia
When Misty was six years old, her family started to live and dress like the Amish. Misty and her sister were kept as slaves on a mountain ranch where they were subjected to almost complete isolation, sexual abuse, and extreme physical violence. When Misty reached her teens, her parents feared she and her sister would escape and took them to an Amish community where they were adopted and became baptized members. Misty was devastated to once again find herself in a world of fear, animal cruelty, and sexual abuse.

Raw, vulnerable and eye-opening
Revisado: 11-17-24
This author and those who have helped her share her story are absolute angels on earth to women and children who suffer from the evils of sexual abuse and assault. I pray that there are systems of protection in 2024 within these communities, but have serious doubts. Unfortunately, there remains a general acceptance of Misogyny in our wider culture, which supports men in general over women. This is partially what drives the continued evil practices.

Historia
Letting go is not a process that comes naturally to us. In a world that teaches us to cling to what we love at all costs, there is an undeniable art to moving on - and it's one that we are constantly relearning. In this series of honest and poignant essays, Heidi Priebe explores the harsh reality of what it means to let go of the people and situations we love most - often before we are ready to - and how to embrace what comes next.

Overall I really enjoyed listening to the insights of a stranger
Revisado: 11-13-24
Much of the book was inspiring and some of it brought me to tears. At times I felt like the author experienced the same situations I have and at other times I pictured sitting on a teenage girlfriend’s floor as she read from her diary. Too many cliches to rate a 5, and far too many messages to try to remember, like a mantra from similar books. It was heartwarming and inspirational -an easy listen to help me process my anger, disappointment and sadness from a recent breakup.

Historia
Renowned academic Dr Sparling seeks help with his project on a remote Irish village. Historical researchers Ben and Chloe are thrilled to be chosen—until they arrive. The village is isolated and forgotten. There is no record of its history, its stories. There is no friendliness from the locals, only wary looks and whispers. The villagers lock down their homes at sundown. A nameless fear stalks the streets. Nobody will talk—nobody except one little girl. Her story strikes dread into the hearts of the newcomers. Three times you see him. Each night he comes closer.

History learned and issues still to be addressed
Revisado: 09-23-24
I really liked the depth of character development in the main character and the eventual self-awareness that she went into fixing the family without consideration of her own future. It speaks to the savior in so many of us! I also like that the author’s note spoke to the injustices imposed on females by the federal government for decades up until even today.

Disappointing and predictable
Revisado: 07-21-24
I regret using a credit for this book. I expected more twists and suspense. Honestly, the creativity severely lacked and there was a part in the description of how the serial killer was feeling which indicated remorse. Not congruent with this “truly evil” antagonist they attempted to create.

Realistic depiction of family relationships
Revisado: 07-12-24
Once again the author’s intelligent, keen ability to develop characters is evident here. She is a true master! I am generally disappointed in the endings though, as some things are left open for me; like questions I have when it’s over. :)
