Historia
Linking the politics of guns with the politics of policing, Policing the Second Amendment unravels the complex relationship between public law enforcement, legitimate violence, and race. Jennifer Carlson shows how racial dynamics shape police thinking about gun laws and how racial ideologies of violence profoundly influence arguments about gun use, whether by the police or civilians.

Very biased book!
Revisado: 04-15-24
I tried to listen with an open mind and hope the book would be more unbiased but after two hours determined this is very left biased. The majority of the book is about how evil gun owners and the NRA are is which is simply not true. I did not sense any middle ground working the first two hours. This is simply a one sided book.

Historia
The day is like any other day until it becomes The Day. At 4:05 pm the United States is attacked with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) weapon. A 20-megaton nuclear warhead is detonated high in the atmosphere above Kansas, blanketing most of the contiguous United States and parts of Canada and Mexico with an electromagnetic pulse that damages nearly all microprocessors and electronic controls beyond repair. Nearly every system that depends on computers and electronics has ceased to work.

Best book of its kind out that I have found
Revisado: 03-11-23
I have listened to probably 50 similar
Apocalyptic/prepper books on the market. This is one of the best ones I have read the pace is excellent, and the story is very interesting and more unique out of all the other books I’ve read by similar authors. This one really gets into the need to be prepared in more detail than any of the others by far. Lots of good pieces of information in there. I will say this one was a little different getting used to with the characters speaking in first person but after about 30 minutes, it seems very natural and actually compliments the storyline. I have never heard any other series speak in the first person and although I was hesitant at first, they quickly grew on me. This is an outstanding read, and I recommend it to anyone.

Historia
Far more than a "business memoir", What Are the Odds? is a raw, authentic account by a man many thought would never rise above his serial, addiction-fueled failures. Mike's gripping narrative transports listeners from his small-town tavern with its colorful cast of "regulars" to Mexico and a drug deal gone awry. From Las Vegas casinos, where Mike won and lost fortunes as a professional gambler, to a jail-cell beatdown. From failed rehabs to his 20-year marriage, an ideal union decimated by addiction. And finally, to the redemption of the most shameful moment of his life.

Great book that shows all things are possible!
Revisado: 02-07-21
This is a great story of a man who overcame many addictions drugs, gambling as well as others. There is a lot to be learned throughout this book. This book is proof that when anyone is at the lowest of lows there is always a way out. From Crack addict to successful millionaire is a miracle in itself! I don’t want to give to much or deter someone from reading this book so let just say READ THIS!!!
