Great Narration, less so writing.

I really enjoyed the narrator and the series had great potential but the writer is super "woke" and idealistic. Sadly the world does not work the way he wants it to but hey it's Syfy so it's passable.

Great series

This series is brutal, raw and intense. The only thing I didn't like about this series was the pointless woke shit that had no impact on the overall story. I have no problem with same sex relationships but the writer clearly made it a point to include as many as they can to virtue signal to the LGBTQ crowd. Take it out and the story is completely the same.

The realism that I've been looking for

Overall a great story with elements of litrpg in a realistic medieval setting. Adding the intrigue of Court with a extensive emphasis on trading and realm building.

Disappointment

Disappointed in how badly this was written... the MT seems like a 10 year old brat that has never experienced life... the narrator seems very new as well and had no depth to his performance. Overall it is extreme waist of time...

Potential but...

ok first note is the horrible narrator... I mean ive heard worse but it seemed like he was new to this. As for the writing, it started good and was drawing me in but fell apart at contact. Humans would freak the hell out way more then they did and I doubt it would have went down this way. It was a also written by someone who had a vague idea of the military and played a bunch of video games. I plan to look into the writer but that was my first impression. I served 11 years in the US Army and that soldier would not scout things out without his rifle let alone take a kid with him.

Story was well written and Marc did just as good of a job as the first two books but they spliced in some other voice for sole quick edits that completely took me out of the story...

After listening to so many books in this series, I feel like the writing has gotten lazy with this book. chapter 12 was the head in the coffin for me. Tongdil becomes completely incipient and looses all that made him a scholar in the first place... hope the rest of the series goes back to its roots.

So it started out strong if not a little confusing but then took a turn when suddenly he remembers that he was a badass in the Army yet almost cried for his life a chapter before... good ideas that don't go well together.

I love all the pop culture references and calls back to some of my favorite books. EF skippy reference got me glares from my coworkers due to my laugh. great story and well preformed.
