Historia
The Galactic Consensus arrived on ships as large as skyscrapers, crafted from glittering alloys that no human scientist could even begin to understand. They followed the trail of century old television transmissions to welcome us into the galactic community… only to recoil in horror at what they found.

Boring MC and a soulless world
Revisado: 03-29-25
The MC has no character traits other than being tough.
This book features lots of combat and nothing else.
Do you like 4 armed lizard men and or giant otters?
Too bad you get those.
This book features terrible people in a soulless world where corporations work everyone to death. So ya no one has fun. Especially the reader.

Fun AI sci-fi
- De JJ en 03-07-24
Bland characters and repetitive story.
Revisado: 12-16-24
A person with a blank memory and a blank personality wakes up and is subject to the whims of a murderous AI overlord. What happens next won't surprise you. They get into 10 to 15 consecutive battles and fights for their life while rescuing one person.
That's it. There are 3 characters in this book and they all suck. Nothing happens except moe battles. And then. More battles.
This setting really needed more development and characters. More things need to happen besides more battle.

Upon awakening in an abandoned lab, Evelyn is empowered by a system that grants her bloody magical powers in exchange for finishing missions and consuming her enemies. She knows one truth: no matter the cost, she will advance. She'll manipulate allies and spread demonic corruption with a smile if that's what it takes to level up. Her first mission is to escape the lab's other newly born creations. But once she steps foot into the world outside of the lab, she must contend with people who forbid her existence and who will work to eradicate those with her powers from the face of the planet.

If you like combat this book is for you.
Revisado: 12-14-24
This book is 90% combat encounters. If you like that then this is the book for you. It features lots of baby eating. Yes babies will be eaten. Demon babies.
If you don't like that then don't read this book.
Crazy magical powers and abilities will be acquired and used liberally on pretty much anyone that has a soul and some of those that don't. Lots of blood. Lots of knives. Lots of death and XP will be had.
There is no greater social interaction or character development just a steady rise in power. There are some good changes to the character at the end of the story but we really don't know how those changes will pan out as the conclusion doesn't really explain the MC's character after these changes. The book just ends.
Grammar and writing is well done but the subject matter is very repetitive. Lots of fighting. Well written fighting but lots of it and very little else.

This story brought to by Salonpas.
Revisado: 12-12-24
This book is one giant headache. So any reader will need Salonpas pain relieving patches. The main character's companion is named Salon and she is constantly pausing. Everyone pauses constantly. Like startled goats.
The author seems to thing that everyone pauses all the time.
First of all people can't pause. They can pause an action. But usually someone will wait or think or ponder or consider or muse or have some other reaction other than constantly pausing like a DVR recording.
Also irregardless isn't a word. The correct word is regardless.
The worst part is that the plot is as meaningful as a series of Geico commercials.
There is very little character development which shouldn't be surprising since everyone is pausing all the time.
Frozen in so much ice.
The plot is shallow and doesn't go anywhere meaningful. I do not recommend this book.

A load of nonsense
Revisado: 12-11-24
This series has gone nowhere. It mixes religion and folklore of many different regions and pantheons. The MC has very little agency and is forced into most situations. Solutions often happen off screen leaving the reader with no idea what's going on.
The setting that has been built for the past 5 books is thrown out in the 6th book.
The characters change so much that they might as well be different people. Terrible violent people. So they might as well be dead already.
The story makes no sense and goes nowhere.
Save yourself a lot of time and pass on this miss mash of every mythological boogy man you can imagine. A literal ninja turtle for crying out loud. Its so stupid.

Historia
Juliet Bianchi has evolved from a lowly scrap cutter to a fully-loaded, combat-ready dark side operator. Known as "Lucky," she takes high-risk jobs for high-tech upgrades (you know, like weaponry, super reflexes, mind reading, etc.) that make her nearly invulnerable. Juliet is looking forward to some downtime to recover, recoup, and reunite with her mates from the space salvage trawler Kowashi. But after a while, she gets that old itch she can never quite seem to scratch: to infiltrate, and hopefully subvert, the all-powerful WBD megacorporation that created the AI that changed her life.

Another Hit!
Revisado: 12-08-24
Great story. Really sets up the next chapter.
No plot holes. No inconsistent characters. Every bit of this story is easy to follow, well polished, well paced.
Our hero slips into a regular routine as she recovers from the excitement and revelations from the previous book.
It looks like a slice of life book until a gang of thieves take an interest in her friends and in her gun ship.
New friendships are forged and secrets are shared.
The finale of this book does not disappoint nor do the myriad of surprises along the way.
Honestly I can't wait for the next book. I am continuing to enjoy the quality and humor of this series.

Bait and switch.
Revisado: 12-04-24
Books one and two are great. They establish the characters and the world at a steady pace while keeping a steady stream of action, introspection and lore mixed in for even pacing. The climax of both books have adequate punch and seem to wrap up most of the plot threads nicely.
Book 3 on the other hand is terrible. There is so much hand waving, giant plot holes, mountains made out of mole hills. So many bad writing tropes that I can only name 10.
"You betrayed my trust and thus you must die." trope.
"We must now engage in a convoluted conspiracy rather than just tell the truth". trope.
"You must become what you hate most". trope.
"We can't just show this video to the authorities." Because that would be too simple and would explain everything and prevent tons of misunderstanding.
"We must keep this a secret. No one will understand" trope.
"everyone is distrustful and violent" trope.
"Everyone is stupid" trope.
"The bad guy gets to do exactly what they want and no one stops them because they have blackmail". trope. Who gives up their free will to an enemy? Especially trained fighters?
"We control the world but can't control the release of a single cell phone video." trope.
Lastly "Everyone interrupts everyone else repeatedly" this isn't drama it is just annoying. in a courtroom. No one gets to finish a point.
It goes on and on. Characters act completely contrary to their core beliefs. Everyone is dumb and backstabbing.
This was so difficult to ready.
Luckily the voice actress gives it her all and does a great job with all the voices involved.
But the writing is so bad. This was either rushed or was done by a different less competent writer.
Shame on you Shayne. You can do better than this.
