Historia
Biltmore House, a palatial mansion being built by the Vanderbilts, American “royalty,” is in its final stages of construction in North Carolina. The country’s grandest example of privilege, it symbolizes the aspirations of its owner and the dreams of a girl, just as driven, who lives in its shadow. Kerry MacGregor’s future is derailed when, after two years in college in New York City, family obligations call her home to the beautiful Appalachians.

love reading anything on the gilded age...this one

I was bored throughout most of this book. I found it difficult to keep Cabot and Grant separated. found the narration to be dull and lackluster.

Highly enjoyable. Listening to Sam and Graham play off each other, the funny stories their friendship makes you want to be their best friend. I have so many other books that have been waiting to be read but this came out and everything else pushed to the back!

engaging but unfinished
Revisado: 08-06-20
As always Mrs Wharton delivers an engaging story. however it is unfinished. which leaves us to our own devices to figure out what happens to our Nan. I think I need to watch the series that aired on PBS.
