Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

The Music RUINS It
Revisado: 10-15-24
I tried, but I couldn't get past 90 minutes. The idiotic music ruins everything. There's no rhyme or reason, it's not only at the end of chapters, but in the middle too. The audio engineer is an idiot too, the music bed shouldn't be at the same level as the narrator making it impossible to understand. Hopefully I can get my credit back, first book in 467 that I've had to return. HORRIBLE 😞

Historia
Joe Goldberg is ready for a change. Instead of selling books, he’s writing them. And he’s off to a good start. Glenn Shoddy, an acclaimed literary author, recognizes Joe’s genius and invites him to join a tight-knit writing fellowship at Harvard. Finally, Joe will be in a place where talent matters more than pedigree . . . where intellect is the great equalizer and anything is possible. Even happy endings. Or so he thinks, until he meets his already-published, already-distinguished peers, who all seem to be cut from the same elitist cloth.

Drags More than the last three
Revisado: 04-28-23
This one isn't as good as the other three, it seems to drag on and on. I love Joe & I love Santino reading Joe, so sticking with the story was not an issue. It just didn't have the action and suspense of the last three in the series.

Finally a great use of multiple narrators
Revisado: 12-02-22
Too many times I see multiple narrators in the book and no matter how compelling the story line, I skip them. However this was part of a sale and the story sounded right up my alley. I'm very happy I took the chance. The three narrators were perfect and different enough you knew exactly which characters point of view was being read. Highly recommend!

Wrong Narrator and Dumb Characters
Revisado: 12-02-22
As many others have mentioned, having someone who sounds a little like Betty White reading the parts of 30 year old characters just grates on your mind. There's no mesh between what I'm hearing and what it's supposed to mean. The story is okay but you must suspend reality or it'll be really annoying. There's no way any of this could ever happen, ever. And I'm one who can pause reality for a story, but this one pushes the limits.

Great Story, Great Characters and Go Cardinals!
Revisado: 12-02-22
I know there were a lot of complaints in other reviews about the football. And maybe it's because I'm a football fan, but I thought it was a nice story bridge and allowed for some metaphors to come through. The story was compelling and not easy to guess. Robert Petkoff is becoming one of my favorite narrators.

This isn't my typical genre but RC Bray caught my attention. Reading the reviews it sounded like a lot of people who bought this for the narrator were pleased. Add me to the list! Outstanding story and I'm very happy to keep going with the Ash Angels!

Why alienate Half Your Audience with Politics?
Revisado: 12-18-20
I have every work written by Connelly in my Audible library (minus duplicates and foreign editions) and half in hardback on my shelves. I love the style he writes in, simple dialogue driven story lines that keep a story moving without a bunch of useless filler and scene setting. Halfway through this book Mr. Connelly decides to express his hatred for Fox News & President Trump. This did nothing for the story and was simply virtue signaling for his milieu. I hope with the myriad negative reviews he keeps this out of his next book, or I'll not be buying anymore. I did the same with Stephen King, who always wrote a little left leaning , but in Sleeping Beauties (the last book I bought by King) he went full on crazy. Please Mr. Connelly, I want to continue reading about Bosch & Haller & Ballard. Stop with the political commentary in these works of fiction.

What Just Happened?
Revisado: 12-18-20
This book wasn't for me. I could be stupid, or maybe it so lacked my attention I just didn't notice, but there was some back and forth time jumping that I didn't realize. Also, the character development was lacking and the story seemed to be about 8 hours too long. A lot of pointless buildup bringing in several useless characters, and a very boring ending. The editors description made it sound like a fast paced thriller, but I'll call it "meandering young adult stinker."

In Benjamin Percy's new thriller, a postapocalyptic reimagining of the Lewis and Clark saga, a superflu and nuclear fallout have made a husk of the world we know. A few humans carry on, living in outposts such as the Sanctuary - the remains of St. Louis - a shielded community that owes its survival to its militant defense and fear-mongering leaders.

Started out good
Revisado: 09-03-20
It starts out great, kind of a cross between The Stand and Divergent. But after the first quarter I found I wasn't listening to the story. Not sure if it's the narrator or a weak story. Not bad, not great.

This was my first experience with Greg Iles and there will be more. It was a fantastic story and I greatly enjoyed the outside of the box concept. Dick Hill was phenomenal as always and the character development was thorough yet concise. #CheaperToKeepHer #MurderDontDivorce #EvilDoctor #SnakeCharmer #WorthTheCredit #tagsgiving and #sweepstakes
