What a ride.

At the start of this book, I thought that I had made a mistake in buying, BUT it turned out to be a really fun listen. I loved the banter of the characters, the strangeness of the situations, the satirical story line. It entertained me and keep me engaged. Looking forward to the next.

I really enjoyed this book. The series seems to get better with each new book. Characters are great, story wonderfully complicated. Narrator is the best. Can hardly wait for the next one.

Best for Teenagers

The book was somewhat entertaining and I did finish it. I thought that it would be best for teenagers or those into gaming. I really like science fiction, but thought that this was too light for my taste.

12 hour character introduction

This book had an interesting time travel premise. Unfortunately it ended up being basically a 12 hour introduction of the three main characters in the book. I think that this could have been accomplished in half the time. It is really just the set up for the next book. The book seemed to drag, then some interesting information would be presented, then it would drag on. It's always nice to learn about the background of each major character, but in my opinion this was overkill. Not sure whether I will try the next one.

I love Scalzi

This was a really fun book. I love the sarcasm in the dialog. I chuckled a lot while listening. Wil Wheaton did a great narration of the book. I’m looking forward to the sequel. Actually I’m looking forward to any new Scalzi novel.

Could not finish

The setup for this book sounded good, but...
The dialog was awful, no one talks like that. In fact it was so bad that I could not finish listening to the book. I guess I should have listened more closely to the 'sample'.

It was not the reader's fault, it was what he was asked to read.

Excellent book and narration

Really enjoyed the book, could not stop listening. Narrators were great. Liked having everyone in the same book. It's been too long between Robert Crais novels.

Excellent book. Titus Welliver did an extraordinary job on the narration. I had to keep listening, until the book was over, very exciting. I really liked Bosch and Haller together in the same book. Connelly is a master.

Fun Book, Good Reader

Listening to this book was a lot of fun. Sometimes author/narrations are not very good, but Rob Dircks did a good job. This book was funny, even silly at times, but totally enjoyable.

Narration was great, Chet was great

Narration was great, Chet was great, story was a downer.

I thought that some of the 'Chet-isms' were the best in a while and some quite funny. It's always fun to hear Chet's thoughts. So very doggy, so hope that my dogs have Chet thoughts.

Unfortunately the general theme and mood of the book was bleak.

I've always liked this series, hopefully the next book will be more uplifting and soon.
