Hildy Good is a townie. A lifelong resident of a small community on the rocky coast of Boston's North Shore, she knows pretty much everything about everyone. And she's good at lots of things, too. I really liked this story. It does deal with weighty subjects but includes humor. Small town dealings where everyone knows everyone's business.

Slow moving story.
Revisado: 05-29-25
This was a slow moving story. I found myself not being able to pay attention. The characters were nothing to get excited about. The story never really got going. I did finish the book but it was difficult.

Slow start but good finish
Revisado: 05-16-25
I almost stopped listening. I was having a hard time getting into this book. The story seemed a bit disjointed and it was hard to keep track of the characters. Finally at 3/4 way through the story came together. While this wasn't a page turner, in my opinion, it turned out to be a good story.

Historia
It’s not stalking if he’s your hot neighbor…right? At least, that’s what I tell myself when Adrian Carter moves in next door. His scowl should make me want to run in the other direction, but when I catch him smothering a smile around me, it makes me want to get to know him more. And when Adrian starts to open up, I find myself falling in love with the cinnamon roll center hidden beneath his gruff exterior. But between my emotional baggage and his aversion to relationships, it’s looking like we’ll never be more than neighborly.

Eh, the story was okay. Nothing special, but not terrible. The characters were pretty meh, and nothing really stood out. Just a chill read that gets the job done.

Historia
In the fading town of Rooster, Texas, all that's really left is a service station, a church…and the Banty House, a long-ago Depression-era brothel. For more than seventy-five years, Betsy, Connie, and Kate Carson have called their mama's house a home. The three eccentric sisters get by just fine with their homemade jams and jellies, a little moonshine on the side, and big hearts always open to strangers. Like Ginger Andrews.

Predictable and a bit boring.
Revisado: 04-17-25
I'm not sure where to start with this one. The story was hard to get into, the characters were annoying and the narrator was just alright. I would have returned this one but I couldn't. Maybe if you love New York you might enjoy this too. I couldn't relate with anything in this story nor did I want to.
It's rare for me not to finish a book but I made it over half way through and couldn't do it.
