Space Marines and Orcs
Revisado: 12-31-20
ADB is a great author, I just find space marines relatively boring characters. Orcs are even more lifeless.

Historia
The Night Lords were once among the most potent forces of the Imperium, Space Marines who used fear itself as their weapon. Now, cast adrift from the Emperor's light and hunted as heretics after their monstrous betrayal, the Night Lords clad themselves in symbols of death and fight the Long War, bringing pain and terror to all who worship the corpse-god of Terra. A summons from Warmaster Abaddon sends these rebels on a dangerous journey that leads inexorably to a conflict with the Emperor's chosen warriors, the Blood Angels.

Chaos marines just are not that interesting
Revisado: 10-31-20
Chaos Marine books are alway a bit comical, made even more so in audible form. The over the top gravelly voices and wanton killing. Just a bit hard to take seriously.

Historia
The war for the fate of mankind blazes on. Though the outer defences have fallen, the walls of the Palace itself remain inviolate as Rogal Dorn, the Praetorian of Terra himself, uses every known stratagem and ploy to keep Horus' vast armies at bay. In Perturabo, the Traitor siegebreaker, Dorn faces an adversary worthy of his skill. A terrible, grinding attrition ensues. The crucial battle for the Lion's Gate spaceport is at the heart of this conflict. With it in their possession, the Traitors can land their most devastating weapons on Terran soil. Dorn knows it must not fall.

3rd book in Series
Revisado: 04-07-20
The writing is great when moving the story of the siege forward. Unfortunately, a large part of the book was spent on a character that added very little overall. I know they are trying to develop a base human perspective to the story which often focuses on gods and super humans. This character was a miss for me and detracted from my enjoyment of other sections. Looking forward to book four.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Not Gladwell's best work.
Revisado: 09-28-19
Interesting as always, but I did not enjoy the real life audio transcripts in this format. This made the book seem like a really long podcast. That said, interesting how many of our comunication challenges might be wired into us via evolution.

Historia
Unaware of the wider Heresy and following the Warmaster's increasingly cryptic orders, Roboute Guilliman returns to Ultramar to muster his Legion for war against the orks massing in the Veridian system. Without warning, their supposed allies in the Word Bearers Legion launch a devastating invasion of Calth, scattering the Ultramarines fleet and slaughtering all who stand in their way. This confirms the worst scenario Guilliman can imagine - Lorgar means to settle their bitter rivalry once and for all.

Chaos is just not interesting.
Revisado: 03-03-19
this book, like many movies, is just about Gore and violence for the sake of Gore and violence. Fabius is just not an engaging character from my perspective. Abandon is the only chaos character I have found to be intriguing and this and other choas POV books are simply "hey, look at how bad we are".
