This was a great book & the narrator did a wonderful job telling this amazing tale of a girl from Russia falling & a red army soldier falling in love during WWII. It was an emotional wrenching story that made me both laugh & cry (sometimes at the same time). The story begins with them meeting at a bus stop in Leningrad on the first day of the war. It follows the couple while they try to hide their true feelings for each other from her family & his "best-friend", struggle through the bitter winter with all its horrors & losses before she & her sister get out of the city with his help, he later finds & finally marries her while on leave in the summer, then back to the war they separately go only to meet again. In the end after a bitter betrayal she makes it to America pregnant & alone just in time to deliver a healthy baby boy.

I would recommend this book to anyone it was that good. I hope there is another book that follows hopefully bringing them back together again.

Imperfect Chemistry was a perfect listen

Would you listen to Imperfect Chemistry again? Why?

This book was a great listen. I will look forward to listening to this book again. I enjoyed the book and as additional books in the series become available, I will likely listen to it again to the series as a whole.

What about Rhiannon Angell’s performance did you like?

The reader brought all the characters to life making this book delightful to listen to. She kept the story flowing in a way that kept the listeners attention.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Once I started listening to this book, I couldn't stop. I listened to the entire story in less than 2 days.

The main character Lucy London is a delightfully bumbling child prodigy all grown up and living on her own at 20 studying to obtain her PhD. To say that she is socially awkward is a drastic understatement. However, with the assistance of three friends who agree to help make-over Lucy after she tries to recruit them for her social experiment. After discovering the intrigues of her neighbor, Jensen, she makes a clumsy approach asking to study him... through a series of emotional twists and turns Lucy not only finds what she needs to complete her passions experiment, she finds passion and a partner in Jensen.

An epic fail in erotica.

What disappointed you about First Time Erotica: Volume 3?

Every story in the book was hard to listen to... How it could possibly be considered "proper erotica" is beyond my knowledge.

Would you ever listen to anything by Charlie Buxton again?

I don't know if I would give this author another chance or not, the author used excessively technical terms while trying to explore intimate scenes in almost every story, making this a hard listen.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

While listening it almost seemed that the narrator exaggerated some of the characters in an effort to make up for the difficult writing provided by the author. Then as the book progressed I felt I could hear the lack of enthusiasm in the subject being read.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I wanted to like at least something while listening to this book, unfortunately there just wasn't anything to recommend this collection of stories.

While the ideas behind some of the story lines could have held promise, it almost seemed the writer had a thesaurus at hand and overused it while writing. The entire book could have been trimmed down to half the time or less and been much more successful. In the end it took everything I had to listen to the entire book.

The Firebird was fabulous

Although I expected the book to start out slow, it didn't. The story immediately took off on a grand adventure or two beautiful love stories, both past and present. Along the way both heroines show their strengths and unexpected acceptance of others. I would in the end highly recommend this book and was delighted with the story.

Excellent story

Looking forward to the next one installment in this series & to it tying into the Reaper series. Great story line and as always love the interaction between characters. However, there are a few loose ends left with the prologues, will Becca's mom finally get help & what happens at the school with the "Irish boys"?

Great book. I loved the whole series. It made me laugh and cry. But through it all it makes you want to believe that a happily ever after is possible regardless of the odds.

Great romance series

Great series. Ive listened to it twice so far. I would recommend for a good listen. Excellent performance and storyline. Personally, I hope the series continues.
