Great storyline and fantastic characters!

This is my first book by this author and I and really enjoyed this book. I was completely caught up in the story and the characters and will absolutely read the next in the series.

Are You Kidding Me...?

Okay. First of all Sabin irritates me. Gwen did too. Mostly because: SPOILERS!!! Galen freaking cut off Gideon's hands. The Hunters have tortured, rapes and murdered people for centuries...and Sabin let Gwen decide to let their leader go!!! Are you for real???? Strider doubles over in the agony of defeat and Gwen is all: "Oops, my bad. I'll make it up to you." HOW? Gideon lost his hands!. How do you make That up to someone...? That was the dumbest ending I've read in a very long time. I just wasted 12 hours and 20 minutes of my life.

Pleasantly Surprised

Honestly, I almost gave up on this book in the first chapter. I wasn't connecting with the characters and had determined that if the second chapter didn't draw me in - then the story was a bust. Luckily I was able to get into the story and was pleasantly surprised to find myself engrossed. So it's on to book two!

Spinning my wheels

I'm half way through this book and NOTHING IS HAPPENING! We haven't even really substantially encountered the bad guy yet. And neither of the main characters seem to know who they are or what they're doing. I'm annoyed.

It feels like this book is starting in the middle of story. It's as if there was a previous book to explain who these people are and how they got here...but there's not. So it can be difficult to keep the characters and their purpose in the story straight.

I'm half way through the book and no one is even sure if the main character the person everyone is looking for!!! I'm at chapter 25 for crying out loud! This story isn't advancing...like, at all. What's the point of all of this? Where is this story going?

Why have we spent so much time listening to the thoughts of the main characters, but still haven't reached conclusions, resolutions, or inderstandings? At some point before chapter 25 this plot should have begun. And I just can't handle the idea of meandering through 25 more chapters like this.

Very Distracting

I was pretty disappointed with this book. Not because I didn't enjoy the story (which is actually my favorite in the series), but because the narrator RUINED the voice of King Jotham. His reading of Jotham's voice was easily one of the most annoying and distracting things I've ever heard.

Somewhat Surprised

My expectations weren't very high - but that was because I was coming off of a 3 book slump. I was very well pleased with this book. So much so,bin fact, that I downloaded the next book in the series. I liked the character - and was genuinely interested to find out what happened to them. Really enjoyable.

Disappointed

This one wasn't my favorite. There were parts of this story that I really enjoyed. I loved the interaction with the band as a group and some of the insights into their various personalities. But I didn't really buy the "relationship" between the two main characters for a much of this book. And Logan and Toni, both as a couple and individually, kinda got on my nerves at times. Too many times actually. So I ended up skipping ahead quite at times. Not giving up on the series - and still glad I read this one for the overall story.

Mourn and Dana's story was okay - but I couldn't really get into it... But I really enjoyed Candi and Hero's story. I also really enjoyed getting to know more about the female species!

Surprisingly Good...

Would you listen to Grim again? Why?

Yes. I really enjoyed this story, especially the vulnerability of the hero. I have to say the the that the heroine was kind of annoying at the very end. I'm not sure who made her the authority on intergalactic romance - but she certainly had no problem being the boss of everyone! All in all however, I enjoyed this book a lot.

What other book might you compare Grim to and why?

It reminded me a little of Laurann Dohner`s Zorn series...

What does Commodore James and Laura Jennings bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I lived the duel narration!! It was like watching a movie...with my ears...
