Historia
Atlantis: The Antediluvian World was published in 1882 by the Minnesotan author Ignatius L. Donnelly. He argues that all known ancient civilizations were descended from this lost land which once existed in the Atlantic Ocean, opposite the Mediterranean Sea. The author claimed that the description of this island given by Plato is not fable, but veritable history.

Absolutely delightful
Revisado: 04-17-22
For history lovers and people with open minds, this is a fascinating rabbit hole with a lot of credibility.
The narrator does a great job going through dense content too, he also makes voices for all the different historical accounts being read from certain characters like Plato. It’s very professional
Civilization was much more advanced and older than we were taught. Humanity’s past is hidden and ridiculed to enslave us.

Historia
The fourth and final year of the Civil War offers one of that era’s most compelling narratives, defining the nation and one of history’s great turning points. Now, S.C. Gwynne’s Hymns of the Republic addresses the time Ulysses S. Grant arrives to take command of all Union armies in March 1864 to the surrender of Robert E. Lee at Appomattox a year later. He breathes new life into the epic battle between Lee and Grant; the advent of 180,000 black soldiers in the Union army; Sherman’s March to the Sea; the rise of Clara Barton; and much more.

Great synopsis, but of course missing details
Revisado: 01-22-20
The book is a great review of the last year of the war, especially to a person not familiar with the conflict.
The Author completely forgets the last surrender of confederate forces which was done by Native American Stand Watie. It also ignored the surrender of the CSS Shenandoah.

Historia
The Great Boer War (1899-1902) - more properly the Great Anglo-Boer War - was one of the last romantic wars, pitting a sturdy, stubborn pioneer people fighting to establish the independence of their tiny nation against the British Empire at its peak of power and self-confidence. It was fought in the barren vastness of the South African veldt, and it produced in almost equal measure extraordinary feats of personal heroism, unbelievable examples of folly and stupidity, and many incidents of humor and tragedy.

Exceptional account of little known war
Revisado: 11-15-19
This is an absolute must have and probably the one of the most definitive historical accounts of the Boer Wars in South Africa, and the narration of this audiobook is phenomenal.
As an American in the 21st century it was hard to find information, especially an audiobook detailing this little known, yet important war at the turn of the previous century. It will scratch your itch if you want to be familiar with the Boer Wars, and has made me entertain the idea of vacationing in South Africa to see the battlefields and museums(I just wish it was a safe country like it use to be).

In The Boer War, winner of the Netherland's 2013 Libris History Prize and shortlisted for the 2013 AKO Literature Prize, the author brings a completely new perspective to this chapter of South African history, critically examining the involvement of the Netherlands in the war. Furthermore, unlike other accounts, Martin Bossenbroek explores the war primarily through the experiences of three men uniquely active during the bloody conflict.

Historia
In the concluding novel of his epic Civil War tetralogy, Jeff Shaara tells the dramatic story of the final eight months of battle from multiple perspectives: the commanders in their tents making plans for total victory, as well as the ordinary foot soldiers and cavalrymen who carried out their orders until the last alarm sounded. The Civil War did not end quietly. It climaxed in a storm of fury that lay waste to everything in its path. The Fateful Lightning brings to life those final brutal, bloody months of fighting with you-are-there immediacy.

Paul Michael does this entire series justice with his wonderful voice. His portrayal of Sherman and Grant is so well done I honestly felt like I got to know the real men. I'm going to miss this series and I'll likely go through them all again in the future.
