Historia
After being gravely injured in battle, Richard awakes to discover Kahlan missing. To his disbelief, no one remembers the woman he is frantically trying to find. Worse, no one believes that she really exists, or that he was ever married. Alone as never before, he must find the woman he loves more than life itself....if she is even still alive. If she was ever even real.

Talking in circles
Revisado: 02-14-25
The majority of this book is Richard attempting to convince people Kahlan is real and retreding previous plot hooks.
One of the ideas presented in the Sword of Truth series is that Richard will rabidly seek out the truth intentionally or not and that people need to just trust him and yet every single book you have characters that should know better relentless question and argue with him.
This entire book is just a single idea repeated over and over again, it was insanely frustrating to listen to and I found myself skipping chunks at a time.

yeah let's just completely redirect focus this many books in.
Revisado: 01-22-25
super frustrating listen, you go through all these books that focus on specific characters and then the author turns around and writes this.
sorry but I find it incredibly jarring to suddenly focus on characters we've never met. easily one of the worst in the series.

Historia
The Carnacki institute exists to do something about ghosts. Lay them to rest, send them packing, or kick their nasty ectoplasmic arses with extreme prejudice. The institute’s operatives are the best of the best. JC Chance: sharp, brave, charming, and almost unbearably arrogant; Melody Chambers: science geek, techno-wizard extraordinaire who keeps the antisupernatual equipment running smoothly; and Happy Jack Palmer: the telepath with the gloomy disposition, the last person anyone would want navigating through their head.

good lord I love this.
Revisado: 01-05-24
So I read these books in the past and enjoyed them greatly. This year I decided to give the audio books a chance.
The production values on this audio book are so good I'm flabbergasted. Frankly it sets a standard for audio books that I think very few titles will be able to reach.
I know some reviews have stated these are cut versions of the original books. It's been a hot second since I read the books, so any inconsistencies between the books and this were completely admissible to me. Even if there is cut content, the quality of this audio book makes it completely worth it.
literally the only thing that would be better is if HBO picked up Ghost Finders as a series. with that being said make sure you check out the movie Judas Ghost, a film based off the Ghost Finders that I adore completely.

Terrible Narrator
Revisado: 12-22-23
I'd like to know who the imbecile was that changed narrators. Sam Tsoutsouvas was amazing and this new guy is flat and emotionless. I genuinely thought at first they had just used a text to voice program. I'm pretty upset I wasted a credit on this book.

I started reading these when I was in middle school. a couple of years ago I finished reading the whole series.
I decided I wanted to revisit the series and audio books seemed like a good idea.
just as good as I remember the the narrator is great. I pray to Satan we get a return performance in future books.

Historia
When Mouse’s dad asks her to clean out her dead grandmother's house, she says yes. After all, how bad could it be? Answer: pretty bad. Grandma was a hoarder, and her house is stuffed with useless rubbish. That would be horrific enough, but there’s more - Mouse stumbles across her step-grandfather’s journal, which at first seems to be filled with nonsensical rants...until Mouse encounters some of the terrifying things he described for herself.

Revisado: 07-18-23
I always enjoy books like this, it's a fun haunting style series. unfortunately the main character Shane is really unlikable, I constantly found myself wishing he'd beef it, when the worst happens to him later on I felt vindicated.

Historia
All good things must come to an end, Constant Listener, and not even Stephen King can write a story that goes on forever. The tale of Roland Deschain's relentless quest for the Dark Tower has, the author fears, sorely tried the patience of those who have followed it from its earliest chapters. But attend to it a while longer, if it pleases you, for this volume is the last, and often the last things are best.

Historia
All the stories in this collection from Stephen King are related to the Vietnam War. King fans will recognize echoes of The Dark Tower series in the collection's first story, "Low Men in Yellow Coats." As the characters develop over the next four stories, King's version of the Vietnam War becomes one of his most frightening tales ever.

Mostly a tale of drama.
Revisado: 11-20-20
I am a big King fan, but I tend to gravitate towards his horror writing more than anything else.
Hearts in Atlantis is a collection of short stories that all tie in together by the characters introduced in the first story, "Low men in yellow coats".
It is by far the longest and most interesting of the stories as it not only sets up all of the characters for the rest of the stories, but also contains the majority of plot, as well as tying in to the Dark Tower series.
Unfortunately, the rest of the short stories are really nothing more than stories about all of the other characters, how they grew up and what happened to them.
If I'm being honest, I feel like Low men in yellow coats is really the only worthwhile story to read or in this case, listen to.

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

I don't know if they updated this audio book since all of the complaints, but I haven't had any issues with this book. The audio cues and music are just fine and the narrator was the perfect pick for this book. I absolutely loved this audio book.
