Historia
Private Detective Cormoran Strike is visiting his family in Cornwall when he is approached by a woman asking for help finding her mother, Margot Bamborough - who went missing in mysterious circumstances in 1974. Strike has never tackled a cold case before, let alone one 40 years old. But despite the slim chance of success, he is intrigued and takes it on; adding to the long list of cases that he and his partner in the agency, Robin Ellacott, are currently working on.

Best Strike book so far!
Revisado: 08-27-21
Complex story. I love the intricacies of the mystery and the subtleties of the personal relationships. Rowling's best Strike book so far. I'm so glad to hear she's writing a 6th one!

It is the height of summer, and Armand and Reine-Marie Gamache are celebrating their wedding anniversary at Manoir Bellechasse, an isolated, luxurious inn not far from the village of Three Pines. But they're not alone. The Finney family - rich, cultured, and respectable - has also arrived for a celebration of their own. The beautiful Manoir Bellechasse might be surrounded by nature, but there is something unnatural looming.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

A Work of Beauty
Revisado: 09-14-19
I loved this book. The story kept me fully engaged...I couldn't wait until I could hear more. There were delightfully unique phrases and images throughout, reminding me of Barbara Kingsolver. Cassandra Campbell was especially effective as the reader.

Engrossing. Fascinating. The narrator was one of the best I've heard managing so many very different kinds of voices.
