The oomph I needed
Revisado: 06-05-23
Getting in the saddle after a long hiatus.. I found this podcast and listening to it made me remember what a blessing artist management is .. once you have the bug.. it never goes ! It might lay dormant for a while whilst life gives you a run for your money , but ultimately it’s still there !
Thank you Chris and all of your amazing guests … you made me smile , remember , work, learn and .. hopefully succeed 😂

Historia
Founded in London in 1717 as a way of binding men in fellowship, Freemasonry proved so addictive that within two decades it had spread across the globe. Masonic influence became pervasive. Under George Washington, the Craft became a creed for the new American nation. Masonic networks held the British empire together. Under Napoleon, the Craft became a tool of authoritarianism and then a cover for revolutionary conspiracy. Both the Mormon Church and the Sicilian mafia owe their origins to Freemasonry.

The best book about Freemasonry out there.

Not worth the trouble
Revisado: 08-20-22
If you want to learn about Freemasonry don’t choose a book from someone who openly hates Freemasonry and religion. This was a biased work rife with historical inaccuracies. Avoid at all costs.

If it’s navel-gazing you’re after, you’ve come to the wrong place; ditto treacly self-examination. Rather, his observations turn outward: a fight between two men on a bus, a fight between two men on the street, pedestrians being whacked over the head or gathering to watch as a man considers leaping to his death. There’s a dirty joke shared at a book signing, then a dirtier one told at a dinner party - lots of jokes here. Plenty of laughs.

Great except for the superfluous narrator
Revisado: 05-18-22
Always love David Sedaris and his books, but part of the magic is how he reads them. Please get rid of this other narrator. Nothing against her, but she has no place in a David Sedaris book.

Absolute perfection
Revisado: 04-13-22
Its not often that you find a book such as this.
It’s funny but true, deep yet lite , it makes you think of life whilst laughing yourself hoarse!
Sean Hayes is born to play this part , I can’t think of anyone more perfect than him !
I listened to this as I was trying to untangle myself from church and a lifetime of guilt and feeling of ‘not being good enough’ … since I finished it I feel such a peace and a sense of closure ..
This it’s in my top three audibles of all times and I feel lucky to have stumbled across it when I did !
Saying that … it’s possibly the funniest more common sensical thing I have ever listened to and I REALLY suggest everyone to listen to it .. you won’t regret it!

Historia
Over the course of human history, there have been countless tomes composed on the subject of mental health and an equally daunting number on the joys and perils of raising children. If you factor in the mysterious nature of twins and the long-term ramifications of being raised in a cult, however, then it’s basically this one and Harry Potter. If it helps, our story is shorter and contains fewer owls. Bisection is the story of one man, two children, and bipolar disorder.

Incredible
Revisado: 11-13-19
I cannot overstate enough how fresh, funny yet disturbingly deep and relatable this book is .
It should be a must read for all parents ... especially those that kid themselves thinking they are ‘normal’.
Hall is the most talented writer I have had the pleasure to read these past few years and the performance was awesome ..
would will and do highly recommend!

Historia
Like all the Bedwyn men, Aidan has a reputation for cool arrogance. But this proud nobleman also possesses a loyal, passionate heart - and it is this fierce loyalty that has brought Colonel Lord Aidan to Ringwood Manor to honor a dying soldier's request. Having promised to comfort and protect the man's sister, Aidan never expected to find a headstrong, fiercely independent woman who wants no part of his protection, nor did he expect the feelings this beguiling creature would ignite in his guarded heart.

Nice story, yet predictable and repetitive
Revisado: 07-03-19
The story is lovely, sweet even, but I feel the reader is treated rather poorly when the author goes on and on drilling the same concept over and over again, almost like she had a words quota for the day to fill ...
the sex v love concept is anachronistic at best ridiculous at worse ... the characters are well developed and the story is plausible, yet the extended sex scenes (brilliantly written) felt out of place in this context.
The writer has great potential , I just hope she’ll go on writing something a bit better placed together ...
the narration was flawless .. but then ... Rosalyn Landor is amazing and by far my favourite audible reader ..
