A Fantastic Series
Revisado: 10-01-23
Absolutely love this series! I love the twists and turns and how complex the lies get, I love knowing things that the characters don't and waiting for them to put it together. I loved watching as the lies started to fall apart and character's worlds came crashing down around them. I loved the narrator and how she does such a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life with different accents. It made Ren's character feel more real and her ability to fool people into thinking she's someone else more believable. I don't think that just reading this book would have the same magic as the narrator is able to bring to it - Nikki Massoud does a fantastic job.
I hope that M.A. Carrick are able to come together to write some more in the future! I love all of the details they are able to slide in and make the world feel so immersive.

After all, Trey - who was only fourteen when he defeated his own father in a duel, winning the right to be alpha of his pack - can’t have anything to offer the talented healer besides trouble, or so she thinks. Def not for me
Revisado: 10-01-23
Bounced off this one due to the excessive amount of 'not like other girls' the main character does. A few scenes of bashing stereotypical girl things without any acknowledgement of why those choices were made or any possible redeeming qualities just reads poorly. Just reads like a bully.
Also, it switched POVs far too frequently (several times in the same scene), often with only a few sentences.

I adore this book and couple
Revisado: 07-30-22
The premise is an arranged marriage - and it's really well done. The protagonists start off with a mutual respect - and feeling of relief that their partner is a kind person. And their love slowly grows from there. It's beautiful.
Grace Draven quickly became one of my favorite authors and I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on her work.

Everything is explained... at least twice.
Revisado: 07-30-22
First off, I couldn't finish listening to this book. The narrator did an okay job with what she was given. Unfortunately, what she was given was a clueless, willfully obtuse teenager.
In the first chapter, the character is introduced to a character. Someone, within her earshot, calls him a prince. He has an obvious bodyguard. Everyone - including the teachers at the school - know and respect him, despite the fact that it was his first day there. And....the heroine has to be explained to, multiple times, that he is, indeed a prince (I guess she didn't recall hearing his title within the first few seconds of meeting him??).
This is pretty much how it all goes. Everything is explained at least twice in minute detail, due to the heroine's complete inability to learn anything. But all it does is make me - the listener - feel like the author doesn't trust that I can put painfully obvious clues together.
