Historia
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Great except the last 20 minutes should have been clearer
Revisado: 10-29-24
I really liked this except the last 20 minutes, it almost seemed like they forgot it was strictly an audiobook with no visual clarity. I think it was an interesting ending and made sense but so much happened and it wasn't made clear (Reddit helped me).

Historia
And So We Walked is a frank, heartwarming, and inspiring story about a contemporary Cherokee woman and her father who embark on an incredible 900-mile journey along the Trail of Tears to truly understand her own identity and the conflicts of her nation. The play recounts the six-week journey, which retraced the path her great-great-grandparents took in the 1830s during the forced relocation of 17,000 Cherokee from their homelands.

Historia
Set in Italy during World War II, this is the story of the incomparable, malingering bombardier Yossarian, a hero who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him. But his real problem is not the enemy - it is his own army, which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to excuse himself from the perilous missions he's assigned, he'll be in violation of Catch-22.

The most tedious and repetitive book ever
Revisado: 08-16-22
With a really good editor this could have been a decent short story but 16 hours!! I forced myself to listen all the way to the end so I could say I'd listened to this "classic". M*A*S*H (TV show, not movie) addressed many of the same themes but mostly did it very well, at times seriously, at times hilariously. I think I gave a slight chuckle twice in the 16 hours of this. Tedious and repetitive and unnecessarily offensive to women. The ending was ridiculous. If you want to spend 16 hours on an unentertaining definition of catch-22, this is your book.

Historia
More than 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale, the theocratic regime of the Republic of Gilead maintains its grip on power, but there are signs it is beginning to rot from within. At this crucial moment, the lives of three radically different women converge, with potentially explosive results. Two have grown up as part of the first generation to come of age in the new order. The testimonies of these two young women are joined by a third: Aunt Lydia. Her complex past and uncertain future unfold in surprising and pivotal ways.

Much better than the original
Revisado: 01-20-22
Having seen the TV show first, I was disappointed by the Handmaid's Tale book but I really enjoyed this one. More storytelling and action and the voice actors were used well.

To these seven narratives of neurological disorder Dr. Sacks brings the same humanity, poetic observation, and infectious sense of wonder that are apparent in his bestsellers Awakenings and The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. These men, women, and one extraordinary child emerge as brilliantly adaptive personalities, whose conditions have not so much debilitated them as ushered them into another reality.

Most was interesting to listen to but racist at one point (he refers to "blacks" as being fearful and, soon after they thought they had seen one, rejoiced that it was instead a real "person". They also kill more animals than necessary to feed, protect, or provision the family of 6. Lastly the appearance of animals from nearly every continent was hard to stomach. It makes Galapagos sound deserted.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.
