Style is nice and main actor was brilliant. Need more like this. Has you hanging on until the end. Then seems they wanted to just wrap it up. Overall, very good.

pretty in pink the other way around!

This really reminded me a bit like Pretty in pink only with the girl being the rich one. please don't read to much into that though - it's definitely not exact, it just has that feel of Pretty in Pink. I loved this story I really enjoyed how we got to hear the couple actually be together for a major portion of the story until waiting until the end for them to be together. so many times we don't get that and I enjoy that most about love stories. I will say that the writer makes the main character talk way to much in her own thoughts, I wished there was more dialog between characters and less narrative thought. I also thought there was more emphasis on Harry's past being so wrong compared to Distelle's transgressions against her parents and her own self. I also NEED to point out to audible that the narration of the guys part- mostly Harry is not good, no disrespect to the narrator after all it isn't easy to make a girl do a guys voice but it's hard to imagine the character when he sounds like a teenage boy going through puberty. I wish audible would have 2 readers, one for the girl and one for the guys part - and that really goes for all books!!!

Very good, but could have been better!

First I have to start by giving this praise. This was definitely a worth it listen to and I also feel a needed tool in our society. I give many kudos to the writers, producers and to Chuck D for coming up with this idea and seeing it to fruition. So many people in our society, different races and classes often don't understand music and the art behind it and explanations like this can really educate. It was a great informative listen and I enjoyed it, I was captivated and will probably listen to it again. It is also something I want my kids to listen to, to educate them. Now having said all that I now must agree with so many others that there was a bit of a let down in the fact that there is so much more that could have been added, especially from Chuck D himself. If we are talking about music that shook this world, nothing could have shook it more than Chuck D w/ Public Enemy's own music through Fight The Power and Public Enemy #1. Let's not also forget NWA's many tracks about injustice and inequality and the deserted communities by our governments. Bob Marleys "No Women, No Cry" 2 Pacs Dear Mama, and the list goes on. Though society frowns on hip hop and rap, it would help them to be educated on many of the messages behind the tracks and the artists that are creating them.

Beautiful story

This story really goes deep. Typical young fall in love Rom Com of course but ontop of that you get some intense serious real life issues. It's almost a breathe of fresh air mixed with really make you think book. I appreciate the deep topics this book covers and the journey it takes you on to delve into them. Just when you think you know the story and it's predictable it takes a unexpected turn you wouldn't expect but then delivers to satisfy you. A truly beautiful story!

Just a sweet enjoyable story!!! I love the story, I love the twists, I love the serious issues involved and I love the anticipation!! The only problem with the story, like most, is once you get the build up and the anticipation comes the story is over!!! I would LOVE if there were some sequels to Kasie West's stories, like once these couples get together it would be nice to hear where life takes them!

Awesome captivating story!!!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this story, loved how it has different twists and turns and engages you from the start. It was great for the a family night, clean for the kids and full of exciting culture of the New Orleans south. Just loved it!! really hoping there are sequels or more Viva Durant storiess!!!
