Historia
Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

A phenomenal story of an inspiring American
Revisado: 10-13-22
I had heard of Tim Kennedy before I listen to this book but honestly had no idea what he had done or who he was. I now find myself extremely inspired and proud to have read this story about his life.

Historia
It was an unprovoked attack, a deliberate act of aggression. When Vice Admiral Mike Brannon of the US Navy received word that the wreck of the Sharkfin had been found, with a gaping hole in its stern, he could only conclude that the Soviets had, without warning, attacked and destroyed a US nuclear submarine. He could not let the incident pass without retaliation. Yet whatever steps he took, he risked leading the two superpowers into a state of war.

A good nuclear submarine techno thriller
Revisado: 02-02-22
This is a good book but pales in comparison to the previous 2 in this series. It struck me as odd to jump so far forward for the third novel from the WW2 Pacific setting of the previous 2. There is quite a bit of Clark and dagger style cold war spy stuff going on and although I am a fan of that it just seemed like too much of a departure for this series.

Historia
Pete Rose was a legend on the field. As baseball’s hit king, he shattered records that were thought to be unbreakable. And during the 1970s, he was the leader of the Big Red Machine, the Cincinnati Reds team that dominated the game. But he’s also the greatest player who may never enter the Hall of Fame because of his lifetime ban from the sport. Perhaps no other ballplayer’s story is so representative of the triumphs and tragedies of our national pastime.

I dare you to listen to Pete Rose describe breaking the all time hits record while he imagines his father watching from the stands and not bawl like a baby. Great book by a LEGENDARY player. Put him in the HOF!

Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

Great Story, Painful Narration
Revisado: 07-13-19
The story of Spearhead is an amazing one that is well told from both sides. About 2 hours into the book I could not place my thumb on it but something about this audiobook was really bothering me. I was just not getting into it like I normally do with these books. I finally realized the cause of my problem... The Narrator. The narrator of this book reads it at an frustratingly slow pace. He draws out every sentence as if its the most dramatic line he has ever read. The book is about 13 hours long but should have been 10. To prove just how slow he reads, you can increase the playback speed to 1.25 and it sounds normal! This is what I did and I was able to enjoy the rest of the book without issue.

Historia
Over the past decade, A Patriot's History of the United States has become the definitive conservative history of our country, correcting the biases of historians and other intellectuals who downplay the greatness of America's patriots. Professors Schweikart and Allen have now revised, updated, and expanded their book, which covers America's long history with an appreciation for the values that made this nation uniquely successful.

Historia

That meeting revives memories of a submarine he'd served on many years ago and a mission that proved far more dangerous and important than he had expected.

The story line was great but much less time on board subs as in previous Jerry Mitchell books. Still a solid novel and as always Dick Hill is amazing narrating.
