Historia
Sam Hill always saw the world through different eyes. Born with red pupils, he was called “Devil Boy” or Sam “Hell” by his classmates; “God’s will” is what his mother called his ocular albinism. Her words were of little comfort, but Sam persevered. Sam believed it was God who sent Ernie Cantwell, the only African American kid in his class, to be the friend he so desperately needed. And that it was God’s idea for Mickie Kennedy to storm into Our Lady of Mercy like a tornado, uprooting every rule Sam had been taught about boys and girls. Forty years later, Sam, a small-town eye doctor, is no longer certain anything was by design.

Favorite book so far this year
Revisado: 06-05-21
I really enjoyed the story line and could relate to the Catholic school and growing up in Bay area. I always looked forward to my next listen ...and wished it could go on!! Deserves a sequel! It was also extremely well read.

Historia
Decades after its original publication, James Agee’s last novel seems, more than ever, an American classic. For in his lyrical, sorrowful account of a man’s death and its impact on his family, Agee painstakingly created a small world of domestic happiness and then showed how quickly and casually it could be destroyed.

Historia
Few books have captivated the imagination and won the devotion and praise of readers and critics everywhere as has George R. R. Martin’s monumental epic cycle of high fantasy that began with A Game of Thrones. Now, in A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth book of his landmark series, as a kingdom torn asunder finds itself at last on the brink of peace . . . only to be launched on an even more terrifying course of destruction.

Looks like cuts from Book 5
Revisado: 01-05-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I listened to it, because I did enjoy the first of the three in the series. You can skip this book, its all recap'd in Book 5. Supposedly Book 5 was published years later, but I would swear this is cuts from Book 5 that they decided to sell as its own volume!
The reading was ok, but often he changed voices of characters mid-conversation. Like me, he probably had a hard time paying attention.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I am listening to Book 5, it is better. But the chapters are drawn out compared to the first three volumes.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes, but as mentioned above, he confused character voices within the same conversation.
Was A Feast for Crows worth the listening time?
I'd skip it.
