Historia
During a routine survey mission on an uncolonized planet, Kira finds an alien relic. At first she's delighted, but elation turns to terror when the ancient dust around her begins to move. As war erupts among the stars, Kira is launched into a galaxy-spanning odyssey of discovery and transformation. First contact isn't at all what she imagined, and events push her to the very limits of what it means to be human. While Kira faces her own horrors, Earth and its colonies stand upon the brink of annihilation. Now, Kira might be humanity's greatest and final hope....

Wow!
Revisado: 12-29-20
Listening to this book reminds me of when I was a young girl reading Dune nearly 50 years ago (although the story is vastly different). It is an epic tale of space adventure, danger, loss, and love. I really enjoyed the technological creations throughout the book. The characters became very dear to me.
Jennifer Hale’s performance is perfection.
I recommend this audible book to anyone who enjoys an engrossing technological space story with much humanity, even in the aliens.

Historia
On October 5, 2017, the New York Times published an article by Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey - and then the world changed. For months, Kantor and Twohey had been having confidential discussions with top actresses, former Weinstein employees, and other sources, learning of disturbing long-buried allegations. But nothing could have prepared them for what followed the publication of their Weinstein story. With superlative detail, insight, and journalistic expertise, Kantor and Twohey take us for the first time into the very heart of this social shift.

Echoed my own experiences
Revisado: 09-30-19
Well written and a great listening experience.
I have been sexually assaulted by three different adult men before I reached puberty. The first was my grandfather, then a neighbor, and finally, my adoptive father. I am 66 years old and have always felt, and remain feeling, guilty that I have not accused these men publicly. By not speaking out, I feel that I have enabled these men to continue their predatory acts. This feeling of guilt is just another way they have assaulted me throughout my life.
This is the first time I have publicly spoken out. The women in this book, including the authors, have given me the courage to tell my story.

Historia
Before Your Dog Can Eat Your Homework is written as a series of letters from O'Hurley's wise old Maltese, Scoshi, to his new baby son, William. In each letter, Scoshi shares observations on what it takes to be a man. O'Hurley then responds, including humorous remarks on what Scoshi meant to say, and offers more tales to illustrate each point.

A gift of love and laughter
Revisado: 01-31-17
This is the sweetest and funniest love story written about, and told to, a little dog and a baby boy. Thank you John O'Hurley for this precious gift.
