This was a magnificent story of a young boy growing up in South Africa. It is tragic and funny and gut wrenching and poignant all at the same time!

An outstanding debut young adult fiction novel. The author tackles the difficult subject of death with humour and purpose and gives us an authentic and totally relatable almost teenage protagonist. Masterful writing and a refreshingly genuine voice.
