Historia
Barry loved three things the most in the world—her son, Max, her husband, Bruce, and her job as the mayor of Nashville . . . until she lost two of them. Her monumental lapse in judgment led to a painful public reckoning and the fall of her rising political career. A battle with substance-use disorder robbed her of her only child. Grief, pride, shame, longing, and resentment nearly destroyed her marriage. Barry has to start again, the right way, with humility, hope, and a wicked sense of humor.

I really enjoyed the candor and the willingness to share the intimate details of her life. Many people have similar experiences but are afraid to share.

Your life is an adventure, ride it! The great thing about motorcycles is it demands our attention and respect. We live in a very connected world and sometimes the only way to disconnect is to connect to your motorcycle. Whatever is going on in your life gets put aside for the ride. It is a beautiful thing. This audiobook was written for new riders and riders returning to riding after a hiatus. It will get you started and what you want out of riding. See why motorcyclists are some of the happiest people you'll meet.

I enjoyed this title and found a ton of useful information. There is no doubt whatsoever that the author knows the sport front to back. He is not, however, a very good narrator. I would suggest the narration being reviewed and completed by someone else that has a little more experience. This will help the Flow tremendously.

Historia
Killing the Witches revisits one of the most frightening and inexplicable episodes in American history: the events of 1692 and 1693 in Salem Village, Massachusetts. What began as a mysterious affliction of two young girls who suffered violent fits and exhibited strange behavior soon spread to other young women. Rumors of demonic possession and witchcraft consumed Salem. Soon three women were arrested under suspicion of being witches—but as the hysteria spread, more than 200 people were accused. Thirty were found guilty, twenty were executed, and others died in jail or their lives were ruined.

While I would have liked to have heard a little more in depth discussion about the individual witch trials, I feel overall this is another wonderful book. I grew up, not knowing a significant amount about history, nor choosing to take much of an interest in it. These books have helped me to learn quite a bit. I look forward to future books.

Historia
Millions of people have thrilled to best-selling authors Bill O'Reilly and historian Martin Dugard's Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln, works of nonfiction that have changed the way we view history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly 2,000 years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God.

As usual, Bill does not disappoint. I am not a very religious person by any stretch. This book explained many things about Jesus and a way that I could understand them that I’ve never been able to understand while reading the confusing Bible.

Historia
On July 14th, 1966, Richard Franklin Speck swept through a quiet Chicago townhouse like a summer tornado and stabbed, strangled, and killed eight young nurses in a violent sexual rampage. By morning, only one nurse, Corazon Amurao, had miraculously survived, and her scream of terror was heard around the world. As the eight bodies were carried out of the small building, the coroner, who had seen the carnage up close, told a gathering crowd: "It is the crime of the century!"

In perhaps his most important literary feat, Norman Mailer fashions an unprecedented portrait of one of the great villains - and enigmas - in United States history. Here is Lee Harvey Oswald - his family background, troubled marriage, controversial journey to Russia, and return to an "America [waiting] for him like an angry relative whose eyes glare in the heat."

Historia
In recent years, the high-profile murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others have brought much-needed attention to the pervasiveness of police misconduct. Yet it remains nearly impossible to hold police accountable for abuses of power—the decisions of the Supreme Court, state and local governments, and policy makers have, over decades, made the police all but untouchable. In Shielded, University of California, Los Angeles, law professor Joanna Schwartz exposes the myriad ways in which our legal system protects police at all costs.

A compelling and eye-opening view into the injustices of our country.

I really enjoyed this title. The author is a great narrator as well. I feel like it was beneficial and eye opening for a person who has actually worked in public safety, and has not always been cognizant of the way things potentially could be perceived, or could be handled differently.
